I don't post hardly any on the pistol section, but lately have seen the Kimber Micro 9s for sale for as low as 579$, I'm not a gun snob but I do know most Kimbers especially the .45s are pricey. Is there a reason these Micro 9s are so low priced? I have never owned a Kimber, being a proud Texan, always disliked the Yonkers NY on the pistol (sorry, don't mean to offend my Yankee friends). I may just pick me one of those Micro 9s this weekend...just asking for input.

Both my daughter and I each have a Micro9. Both have been flawless with hard ball ammunition through a couple hundred rounds. Neither of us have fired hollow points yet.

If you disregard Kimber's special editions with the fru-fru colors and fancy finishings, I find Kimbers are competitively priced with comparable pistols. Including my Micro9, I have three Kimber handguns and all are good, reliable shooters.

The basic ones are lower priced (than say the P938) as they don't have night sights and they only come with one magazine, so that saves a few bucks. The fancy models like the Raptor have extra milling on them (serrations, scallops on the slide, and night sights bring the cost of manufacturing them up.
