Just put in for the all-silver version, and I'm #80 in line. Was told that it would be sometime in the fall before mine came in.

How deep are the backlog queues at your LGS?

Just an FYI, the Kimber Solo "Stainless" is not stainless, in case you were not aware.
I'm #34 at my LGS, lucky to be there at $598.00 too!
Can't wait to get it.

357Shooter,

Yup, I realize that the all-silver is not all-stainless as I originally posted. The catalog states that both the black and silver frame are aluminum, with the KimPro II finish on both.

I elected to go with the all-silver, because the two-tone samples I've seen showed scratches more than the one that was the same color.

Great price on your score, by the way! I'm hoping to be able to test fire mine some time in 2011 :(

Rumor has it that some equipment in the Solo production line has gone down, and been down for some time. Have a all sliver unit on the way, ordered it a couple months ago......maybe something will show up by Christmas.

I ended up canceling my Stainless kimber solo_Orginally my gunshop told me may-june time frame, then maybe oct-nov.I ended buying a inox beretta 85s in 380 cal.Great little pistol.

I cancelled my Solo deposit and put it towards a Kahr PM9 instead. I got tired of waiting and of all the rumors about production being stopped. I might get one down the line, if they ever come out, but the PM9 is a great pistol. I'm happy.

Would like to see some official document from Kimber stating that they stopped production on the Solo. I have called them twice and ask directly, "Have you stopped production on the Solo?" Was told no, that is a rumor that was begun, we are behind on production, not realizing the demand.

I think they build one a month, then ship it directly to GunBroker

I have yet to see an actual production silver model, only a few pics of one in a magazine.

My LGS had a sample that was used to take orders, but ended up selling it as a gift to a retiring State Police officer. The shop does not expect to see another sample for quite awhile.

I'll get a silver model if they decide to groove or checker the frame grip straps.

I only saw one at the Tampa gunshow 2 or 3 weeks ago. They wanted $1150 + tax on it. I'm like ok, well you enjoy having that thing in your inventory from now on...

Sometimes I think gun dealers are all on crack. They are asking $1000+ for a already overpriced gun whose MSRP is somewhere near $747.00 and has been reported to have feeding issues. LOL

Didn't realize that some dealers were trying to overcharge potential customers with that one.

For $1000+, I'd rather get the next Kimber on my list, the Ultra Crimson Carry. I'll still keep my name on the list just in case too many have already given up on getting a Solo.

Thank you very much for the feedback!

I know rumors are rampant for this little gun. Had not heard the one about about production stoppage. It's funny, all the mags have reveiwed it and not one (correct me if I'm wrong) has mentioned feeding issues, only likes one type of bullet, etc. As for $1200 for the Solo? if my name comes up and I get one soon, I can think of several other guns I would like to have for $1200. Supply and demand.

My Solo Carry has to this point been a mixed bag. Originally it had some serious issues. The first fifty rounds went like clockwork and then it started to misfeed. Upon examination I became concerned that the lugs where the barrel and the slide contact had excessive wear. Talked to Kimber and they wanted to take a look at it so it was sent to them and returned a month later with a new barrel and slide. Back to the range... now it would lock the slide back on every shot. Back to Kimber... they had an issue with the way the slide stop was installed. It was returned a month later. Back to the range... it functions now but it still had one misfeed and the slide doesn't always lock to the rear upon running the Mag to empty.

The pistol has the best trigger and is the most accurate of any of the pocket pistols I own.... but I am concerned with the reliability based on my experience thus far. Not sure if I want to keep this pistol or sell it and buy something else. Itended for my wife to use this as a carry piece but if it can't rock 50 rounds without a misfeed I won't have her carrying it.

I got to put exactly three rounds through a solo carry belonging to my CHL instructor last week.

It seemed to shoot well enough and recoil was quite pleasant. However the owner commented on it being very ammo sensitive and I did have a fte on the last round using wwb.

All in all in still very interested, however my PF9 can fill the the role of my primary carry in the interim while Kimber sorts out it's issues
