KISS?

Man, this whole time I've been thinking that KISS meant to Keep It Straight Sexy! So I went and pre-purchased my rails, lights, lasers, batteries, backup lasers, did a fish net pattern on my CTR stock with some scented spray paint...

I wish this thread came along earlier.

Just don't be so arrogant as to assume that everybody else's needs are identical to your own.

I think the boundaries of KISS are nearly as flexible as the AR platform.

So KISS away !!!!

I'd say strike a balance. To me there will always be an optic that is better than iron sights for a specific application. It just depends if you can mount it on the rifle.

I think the underlying idea is that more stuff can go wrong as it gets more complex.

One man's simple is another man's complex. I'm happy to have options and the freedom to modify equipment and tactics as necessary.....sometimes that means more gear, often times it means less.....but the option to adapt to the conditions is one of the things that makes an AR so alluring to begin with.....

Like I said, if I'm changing my buttstock to one that doesn't wobble, offers a better and more comfortable cheek weld, more sling attachment options and a non-slip rubber buttpad; changing my grip to one that is not too close to the trigger, fills my hand and is generally more comfortable; what difference does it make, especially to YOU, what color it is or how I spend MY money???

For the fashion critics among us...who apparently think it's okay to paint a rifle but not to buy colored furniture.
