Used mine for the first time at an indoor range shooting hand guns. Worked fine with no issues. I would not have been able to use a traditional chronograph. I loaded some 45 ACP where the brass was the same, the bullets were within .1 grains of each other and I weighed every charge. Basically trying to make them identical within 10 round groups at the same powder weight. I was surprised at the speed difference within each group. It seemed like I had one high and one low so it averaged out but the accuracy was different than those in the middle of the pack. I was also surprised at the speed difference between plated and jacketed bullets at the same powder weight.
So my goal will be to simply collect data and try different loads and powders. Being an old retired guy, it keeps me busy doing what I enjoy. Is it worth the cost? Some things you just cannot put a value on. I could have simply continued my hand loading as I have always done and it would have been fine. Now I have opened another door so to speak and added another level to my hobby. With that being said, the cost is worth it to me. To each his own.
