Has anyone used SILI KROIL to protect the outside surfaces of their firearms? If so what is your opinion of it. It's made by Kano labs. for industrial use. It appears to be a silicone based penetrating spray that also repels moisture and protects.

it's a great PENETRATING oil for seized bolts and such. I prefer to use things for what they are desinged for and not experiment with my firearms.

I use wonderlube 1000 to protect the outside of all my firearms not just my Black powder. And generally I us WD-40 on a patch for the inside of the barrel.

Ok I was just reading the label and thought that it may work great in this application. From the label it has many uses. Many folks love wd-40 and it's my understanding it was designed for arthritis. Which is why i'm looking for opinions. I have other products but this made me curious.

Known as the oil that "creeps". As described it is great at getting into tight places and penetrates metal very well. I occassionally use it for certain applications in firearms, but am a Breakfree CLP fan and now a Berry's Ultimate Gun Lube owner!

The one thing kroil does is get under copper or metal fowling better than most. So if you have a gun that does not group like it use to plug the barrel and fill with kroil or just check it damp withit and after a couple days you will beable to get it clean with out the odor of most copper cleaners or the scubbing that other require. Froil is the same thing that gm used as there topend lube that was used to loss'n carbon off valves and pistons..I to have and still use Break Free as a basic cleaner and on all metal works on the guns and have from the 70's.

I use Kroil (I have a friend that gets it to me for free!) when I clean my barrel.
if I ever have surface rust, Ill use it with some 000 steel wool, and wipe it off. Then use some CLP (the ONLY thing I have found to keep rust off.

My Baby Eagle would rust if I looked at it funny, Even covered in Remoil!!! I tryed CLP, I will spray a coat on and rub it in, then wipe it off, and Done! I do this about once every 3rd time I shoot it! Never had a Rust Issue after CLP!!

I use regular Kroil for almost all of my cleaning.I haven't used the Sili Kroil, but if their product is anything like the regular stuff, then I'll definitely try some.

Let us know how it works out.

Kroil does a pretty good job at cleaning, but I just can't stand the smell of it. It also lingers in the house for some time, so I have to use it outdoors.

I tend to use other products that have no smell.

Kroil and Sili-Kroil are gods answer to cheap and mil-surp ammo.

PB Blaster and Kroil products has made my smith shop more money in time savings than any group of tools or semi-intelligent use of them.

I use it for damn near anything and everything here at the shop. I also use it in the ulta-sonic parts cleaner as a added kick, amazing what it does to old gummy, stuck and abused pieces. Cosmolined parts in Kroil in the ultra-sonic cleaner looks like someone is using a jack hammer to chip off the cosmoline.

IT ALSO WORKS ON BLACK POWDER FIREARMS for all those that accidently used a gummy petrolium based product, not as a bullet lube, but as a cleaner protector after you use hot soap and water on the barrel and nipple or frizzen areas. :D

There was a car at the national roadster show that was left unpainted and they used a pure kroil oil as a wet sanding lube and that rod has not rusted at least for several weeks after. Wife was going to pick a color for it but side she might leave it along . Guess it works pretty well.

Eezox is the best commonly available corrosion inhibitor I have found. CLP is second. Kroil, not so good in my informal tests.

Good to hear! My dad keeps several cans of this stuff around from his job as an HVACR technician. I noticed a long time ago the bit on the can talking about guns.
