Hey, I'm looking into buying an Aimpoint M3 for my carbine, but I cant decide if I like LaRue or GG&Gs mount better. I like both of them for the quick detach, and I know I want the cantilever mount so I can push if far forward. Right now it seems like the LaRue mount sits a little higher then the GG&G mount, and I don't really like that. Right now I have fold down front and rear sights on my carbine so I don't need the extra height that LaRue gives you to get over the standard A-frame front sight. I've never dealt with either companies, so I have no clue as to their quality of products. Just wanted to get your guys input on this matter and see if you can help me out, as to which one you think is better.

I have alot of LaRue mounts and am very happy with them.

I will only use LaRue. Their customer service is outstanding, plus, they throw in some freebies when they ship stuff to you.

Even though you've made up your mind already...another + for Larue!

Ordered an Aimpoint Comp M3 with RAS II mount and they threw in a cool hat, armadillo tool, "armadillo seasoning" and a couple of bumber stickers. I was just as excited with the freebies as with my scope and mount!

I have three LaRue QD LT-104 mounts. Two of them work PERFECTLY on a couple of AR-15s (mounted to the integral rail) but one of them doesn't seem to work well on my new POF SPR (.308). The POF M.R.R. (rail) is notched too deep so that each cam lever only engages one "lug" on the rail (approx. 5/32" bearing surface per cam) which isn't enough to prevent movement of the mount (see photo below). I've spoken with LaRue (awesome as always) and spoken with the tech dept at GG&G (very helpful too). The GG&G FLT Accucam QD Scope Mount has a 2" long bearing surface that is pulled tight against the rail when the cam lever is locked in place. That would result in at least 5 and possibly 6 rail "lugs" of bearing surface i.e. 5 x 5/32" = 0.78" compared to the paltry 0.31" at present ... 2.5 times more bearing surface. I may have to order one since changing the M.R.R. really isn't an option.

LaRue makes excellent products, but they don't work in every situation. Just something to be aware of.

I have three of those Beverage Entry Tools along with three caps and way too much Dillo Dust. :D I have a LaRue flashlight mount and a LaRue bipod adapter so I'd definitely call myself a fan. However, I did just order a GG&G since the LaRue mount isn't playing nice with the M.R.R. LaRue sent me a scope turning tool with the last order. I wasn't sure what it was until I read the package label.
