I must admit I was suprised to see his carry gun in the safe...unless he has a pair, one for fancy carry and one for regular carry. Guns don't do much good in safes.
Also, they were talking about his 1905 colt belonging to someone famous who I don't recall right now, THAT is what I expected to see in the safe, or displayed on the wall as tehy walked by, there should have been some reason his buddies were telling sam about it, rather than just out of the blue.
She was $40,000 short and plopped a $120,000 coin down to cover it. She should have said 'see you, and raise you $80,000' and then Cooper (Tom's character) could have placed his 1905 on the table, or she should have pointed out the $120G coin > $40G bet, and suggested 'or you can antie up that something something gun these guys were drooling over earlier'
This gives the Cooper character some great building moments, he can put a flashy gun on the table, which adds to his character in one direction, or he can say "I don't gamble guns" or "I don't know if you can legally own a gun missy" and then slide a big pile of chips over and say '$120G you said,' and then slide over a pile of chips 'That should about do it.'
