From the original article
"He got killed because he dissed a Bloods gang member making hand signs," she says. "The area is Bloods territory. You can get killed for that."
and
From Tears of Rage
So certain gestures are now a capital crime, not even deserving of a trial? Please post a list of exactly which gestures you would shoot someone for making so that I won't accidently make them.

Defined, just for you!

Dis their signs or flash your own crew's signs and you'll be the victim of a capital crime without a trial.

>The 'bloods' sign happens to be identical to the ASL sign for "I love you."

Now that clears up a lot of things.

(Not really, but it's pretty funny! My wife works with deaf kids... 'course she probably doesn't make that particular ASL sign at most gang members anyway...)

Because Malone has spoken I must add...

"That's ridiculous. "The community" saw one young man shoot another. We apparently have one witness that says there were gang signs involved. We have a report but no proof that the victim was a good guy."

What's actually ridiculous is that regardless of whether the victim was a "good guy" or not doesn't negate the fact that the murderer was not a good guy and should have been stoned, trampled or whatever necessary for the general populous to say they do not allow this kind of thing and these will be the consequences of this kind of action. Granted I will only be speculating here but regardless of the report and who witnessed the shooting I would venture a guess that the witness knew what gangs were in the area, that the murderer wasn't a law abiding citizen and that the dead victim was infact dead after being shot by said murderer.

""Just shoot them" might sound like a simple solution, but it's just a simple-minded solution."

Although I agree that the Constitution does guarantee our right to a fair trial and people deserve due process of the law the problem is that so many new laws circumventing the Constitution are in place now that it is virtually impossible to get Constitutional justice. People such as the murderer in the article could care less about the law and have created an environment where repercussions are unlikely, but it doesn't change the fact he murder another individual and got away with it. But I guess you're right we should do it the way you suggest and that will solve the problems...Oops! We ARE doing it that way and it's failing.

Take care,

DRC
