I need to make changes to what I carry based on a lingering back injury. I came across a LC9S Pro and love the trigger, ergonomics and the option to carry a 9 round magazine. It's also thin and light enough to carry without aggrevating my back and can be pocket carried, depending on what I'm wearing. I'm going to rent one before buying it to make sure I like the way it shoots. Is anyone aware of reasons not to go with it other than personal preferences?

A friend has the LC9s but not the pro and imo it shoots as well as any of the other single stacks. His was reliable too.

I have the LC9s. Great trigger, accurate, surprisingly soft shooting for a sub compact. Usually carry IWB, but also pocket carries well in most of my clothes (DeSantis Nemesis). I do wish I had known the Pro was coming out weeks later.

I feel ya! I very nearly bought an LC9S right when they came out but I didn't really want a safety. Lo and behold a couple months later the PRO was in the case! Ruger has been on a roll lately. I'm considering picking up a Pro myself but the field has suddenly become crowded with good single stacks lately. My Nano has been great so far but the Ruger is maybe 20% thinner!

I got the LC9s for a carry gun and have not been disappointed. It functions well and is comfortable to carry IWD or some pockets. I got the one with the safety because this trigger is not a revolver type. This is just a preference of course.. Good luck with what ever you get!

Got to fondle and dry fire one today at the LGS. I've never sold a gun before, but I just may have to sell my LC9 and get a LC9s Pro. After all, I've already got 2 holsters for it...

I'm stopping by a LGS tomorrow to pick up a Canik I ordered from Bud's. Something tells me I'm picking up the LC9S also.

The Pro does not have the external manual safety and the magazine disconnect. I did not want to pocket carry without a safety so I got the non-Pro version. So far so good. No failures in 168 rounds.

My Pro went back yesterday. After firing about 25 rounds ( brand new gun) the slide lock would pop up and lock the slide back halfway thru the mag.

I had a similar issue and realized, with the guns relatively small grip, that I was engaging the slide stop with my thumb.

I took another look at it yesterday when I picked up my Canik, and like it even more after a second look. I'll be picking one up next week.

I checked and made sure my hold was not touching it. But thanks for that insight.

No complaints about my new LC9s Pro. It took a few years but Ruger finally got their little 9mm right. I'm very pleased with it. I wouldn't be surprised if many LC9s owners upgrade to the LC9s SemiPro (by removing the magazine disconnect).
