I've got a Marlin 1895 in 45-70 set up with iron sights. I've zero'd the rifle to the Leverevolution 325 grain load but I'd like to handload some lead bullets for practice without having a huge difference in point of impact. While I realize that the Leverevolution ammo has a sleek copper bullet, it seems like it would be possible to load a lighter lead projectile that comes pretty close to the zero at 100 yards. I don't have a variety of bullets sold locally and for the add in shipping costs, I could have bought bullet molds. I'm hoping someone could advise me on a bullet mold and recipe that would come acceptably close. My Marlin is newly manufactured with the deep Ballard rifling. Thanks in advance!
