Ohio
Two and a half years ago now....
$100 for the class.
45 for the Sheriff (more if you're a recent immigrant to OH).
15 for a box of .38's, roughly.
13 for the pictures.
-----
$175 give or take....
My favorite instructor is now charging about $25 more. Guess you could call it $200. I didn't shop around - the dealer who sponsored the course is practically family. No break on the price
(or the exam & qualification
), but at least I get good prices on guns....
While it's not true that my first carry was a matchlock (flintlocks were just a passing fad
), I hadn't been on the range for a long time, and wanted to take something that'd be reliable and reasonably unlikely to cause problems. I took an ancient 4" S&W M10HB.... It worked.... (A 6" M19 seemed overkill. My buddy brought an M41 - .22LR target gun. Hm....)
Disregarding the comments elsewhere (here and on the OFCC site) about whether or not we should do this training at all, I think the newbies in the group learned a great deal, and us old timers (they wouldn't accept my 1968 OPOTA certification) got a chance to get in a little enforced range time and a refresher on the new law.
'Course, don't tell my wife - this has cost me a LOT more.... The very first shot from the old M10HB reminded me of how much fun I'd missed. I joined the local Rod & Gun Club (great indoor and outdoor ranges), which set me back about $1000 over 18 months, and we won't even talk about how many new guns "I found in the safe"....
$20-ish for PA and NH too.... I live about 20 miles from the PA line, and get over there often enough.
Good poll - this should be sticky!
Regards,
