Indeed
I lose perhaps 10% at each trip to the range (for example, cases landing ahead of firing line cannot be retrieved) so every one I can salvage isn’t brass, but gold.
So if you're shooting 200 rounds, you're losing 20?

That seems like a pretty reasonable ratio to me...but then, I attend Lost Brass matches where I'm losing 200-300 cases in a day.

For 9mm, I sort my brass and there are several headstamps which I don't let get pass cleaning, much less resizing...R-P, FM, IMT, Ammoland all end up given to fellow shooters who want to mess with them. Any case that won't easily resize and case guage usually gets recylcled, because I wouldn't inflect them on another shooter. Part of my attitude might be that I have several 5 gallon buckets of 9mm brass...to the point where I'm trading them for SPP

Do I really need it?

Need is a strong word.
No you don't "need" it.

Semi-auto handguns do not need a deep crimp.
They are stopped by the case mouth. So as long as you remove any "bell"
that's all the crimp you need.

If you're doing that with the seating die, then all's well.

Interesting. I like R-P brass. I sort by head stamp and load a bunch of R-P without any issues. I sort into 5 bins: R-P, WIN, Blazer, Federal, and 'other' (everything else).

I load all my mixed 'other' dregs when I go to the indoor range where I know I'll lose a bunch of it. I don't toss any brass unless it's damaged in some way. I even load that dreaded Ammoland stepped brass. It all loads and goes bang.

I could’ve written this precise thing.

Losing 10% is no big deal I agree provided replacements are readily available, but they’re not. I use everything that fits.

Back up in Post #14, I posted that the OP is loading on a Dillon Square Deal.

Is there anyone here who doesn't understand that the Lee Factory Crimp Die won't work on that press

9mm, & Mark_Mark, OK my progression of the correct procedure was not so hot. I never had the original intention of using the die on a SDB. Thanks Skid.
I was just messing around, it’s very obvious that dillion does they own die for that press

'Dillion Square Deal' uses proprietary dies, that is dies that only work with the 'Square Deal'. NO other dies will work with this press. Argument over.

well I would not use the word proprietary too fast. Thread adapter and a lathe and a mill, I could get it to work
