I have the Lee classic press and the Lee Pro powder measure. I am reloading for the 500 S&W and the single disc does not get me close to enough powder so I tried stacking them after reading up on it. I got the longer screws and hooked them up. I am not super impressed. The screws keep coming undone and I do not think its the best setup. Does anyone have a good powder measure that would work with the Lee press well?

I used the double disk kit on my pro auto disk. I had to get longer screws because the ones supplied were not long enough

Yeah I am not super happy with the double disc setup. I will shoot what I made but I am going to try something else. I am thinking an RCBS uniflow. I bought a quick change adapter that hooks the rcbs up to Lee expander die. Not sure if I go case activated or what?

Well I just picked up an RCBS Uniflow measure. It looks like a nice unit. I like the simplicity of it. Looks like it will last a lifetime also. Now I just gotta wait for the adapter thing to get here. I will have the extra step of pulling the lever to charge the shell but I think I can handle it until and if I decide to do the case activated adapter thing.

Just be careful. The added extra step of manually working the powder measure will throw off your rythem and just make sure each round is charged.

Yeah it is one more thing to do but with the 500 I have been checking each shell to make sure there is a good amount of powder in anyway before moving on.

Have you tried the Lee Adjustable Charge Bar? (Part #90792)

I also had to replace the screws supplied with the Double Disk Kit for slightly longer ones.

I do have the adjustable charge bar but I am not sure how that would help. I am able to get the powder I need within reason with stacking the discs. The Lee pro with a single disc works well enough but the stacked thing just seems a bit sloppy. After getting the RCBS Uniflow I am not sure if I will use the Lee measures at all anymore. With the RCBS I can fine tune to exactly what I want accurately I hope.

I don't understand why your screws keep coming undone with the double disk setup. I also had to go to the double disk to fit enough powder for my .454 Casull and .480 Ruger loads. No problems at all I have brass knurled thumbnuts at the bottom of the screws and they seem to hold very well. Did you use the little plastic adapter thingies on the sides of the disk when you went with the double disks? It appears they stabilize the stack.

But it appears you have found a workable solution anyway. Good luck.

"Funshooter45" Yep you got it right. I missed the side things. From what I read or thought I read all I thought I needed were the longer screws. Well I am into the RCBS now anyway. Hopefully for the better.
