I have a Lee Turret press and am really getting into reloading. I need something to measure and dispense powder in a more timely manner than manually using a scale and then pouring the powder into the brass. What are my alternatives. I already have the Lee Auto Disc kit, but even with the double disc kit, it won't work for larger loads. I would like it to be able to screw it into the press. Based on this criteria, what are my options? I have been looking into the Lee Perfect Powder Measure and RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure with Standar Cylinder, but I don't know if these would meet me specifications. Please give me your insight. Thanks.

Both would work fine as also would a Lyman 55 measure. Myself I happen to like the Lee measure, others say no "I assume because its made of plastic, which bothers me not one whit". Its your money spend it as you wish, they will all work fine.

While not familiar with the Lee Turret press, I do have and regularly use three Uniflow's. For the most part with ball powders they are very accurate and even when using some of the extruded powders they are close enough for the loads I shoot. You will find that any of them will cut a stick or two once in a while.

I do have to say that when on the progressive I do not load using the stick type powders. I reserve those loads to one which is set up specifically for that purpose. It takes a little practice to get where you can throw the charges within a specific range, but once you hit that gear it is easy to repeat time and time again.

How much of a powder charge and what type of powder are you talking about? I have thrown charges as large as 75.0 grs. on my RCBS Uniflow with the large rotor.

I am talking about powder charges in the 50-60grain range. I will probably be using H-Varget and H-4350. Can the Uniflow and the Lee Perfect Powder Measure be screwed into the charging dies? Thanks.

I don't know of any powder measure that will screw into the Lee powder through the expander die except Lee Auto disk measures

Can they be screwded onto the charging dies, nope you'll have to throw them seperate. Get youself a loading block, or make one. Not a bad idea anyway because you can dbl check the cases before seating the bullet.
