I bought a lee turret press used and it came with 223 dies. I just bought the lee 30 06 deluxe die set and it doesn't have a powder through die, do I just use the one that i use for 223 or do i need a different one?

If you have the Lee rifle charging die you don't need another. So you are good to go there.

You will(maybe) have issues using some '06 powders that are popular, the autodisk measure and the double disk kit might not hold enough of a charge for '06.

gt1 is spot on. Rifle charging die is universal. move it from set to set if you are more cheap than lazy, buy a 2nd one if you are more lazy than cheap. :)

The powder through expander die is only for pistol cases that need to have the case mouth belled in order to seat a flat bottomed bullet.

The Midway link Wylie1 provided shows the Auto-Disk Riser, which is for adapting the Auto-Disk powder measure for use with other brand dies, that may not be tall enough for the Auto-Disk to clear the tops of the other dies.

The Rifle Charging die is what is used to charge bottle neck rifle cases with the Auto-Disk, and it works for just about any rifle case.

As noted.... The Auto-Disk, even when double stacked, might not provide enough volume for a large powder charge. You could switch to using the Perfect Powder Measure, which has a vernier scale on a dial for setting the volume (this is the "normal" powder drop style, used by the other brands, only Lee executes their design in plastic). You can set it up on a Lee Turret press and use the unniversal charging die to make it case actuated, only it will have to be manually reset.

Clear as mud? :p

Lee Rifle Charging Die.

Lee Auto-Disk Rifle Powder Charging Die 22 to 30 Calibers 792057.jpg Product Information

This die is used to charge small capacity rifle cases ranging from 22 caliber to 30 caliber with a minimum case length of 1.403" to a maximum case length of 2.015" (Ex: 22 Hornet to the 308 Winchester) using the Auto-Disk Powder Measure. It works the same as the pistol powder through expanding dies except it doesn't expand the case mouth. Rifle case expansion is normally done in the sizing die. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/792057/lee-auto-disk-rifle-powder-charging-die-22-to-30-calibers Is this the one? Looks like the 30-06 is to long for this die, but maybe only IF your using an Auto-Disk? I dont use Lee.

It is also for the Autodisk to clear the Safety Prime.
