Got a friend who is a leftie and is considering a new shotgun this year and wants something a) semi auto and b) lighter than his BPS (which is like 8 lbs I think). I'm usually the go to "gun guy" but when it comes to shotguns I've been making do with a battered 887 I won in a raffle for years so I'm little help.
Top two seem to be the super black eagle 3 and M2, both by Benelli. I'm partial to the SBE, but that's because I've come close to buying one a few times myself so I have a bit of a bias.
Use will primarily be upland game, pheasant and grouse, probably some wood duck here and there.
What am I missing, suggestions on some good places to start?
(I'm going to piggyback his research for a probable shotgun for myself next year, it's about time I upgrade anyway, right?)
