im looking for a left handed rifle in 30/06. who makes an accurate one for under $700.i have no brand loyalty already have a Howa, Marlin, Savage, havent had good luck with Mossberg.

thanks fell THR posters. Butcherboy

assuming bolt gun may I recommend Savage. Savage has to be the best deal with that accu trigger and other accessories. People complain about the barrel nut, but my guns work and dont need to be eye pretty. They are also super accurate.

jsnaps: ive had my eye on the savage. herd lots of good stuff about them. im in no rush so doing my research first. looks dont matter to me im more about accuracy :)

most folks make a lefty bolt these days, but few make them in short action. for a 30/06 it doesn't matter through. My money goes to savage or tikka.

Savage and Howa are both accurate rifles, but Howa doesn't make LH that I recall.
Ruger also makes LH,but I've never found them to be as accurate as a Savage, and their triggers SUCK!
Browning also makes LH,and their very accurate, but a little pricey.
And we can't leave out the Remington 700,though the quality has slipped in recent years, they still are good rifles.
Tikka also makes a very accurate LH rifle,as does CZ-USA.

Just find the one that fits you best, and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

I own lefties by Savage, Remington, Ruger and Tikka. I haven't shot the Remington or the Ruger enough to have an opinion, but both the Savage and the Tikka are tack drivers.

The Tikka is in 308 and it's a pretty slick handling little gun.

Tikka. Factory free floated barrel, smoothest action ive felt from a factory in rifles costing twice as much.
other than that, ruger, savage and browning (left handed BAR?).

+2 for the Savage. I have 2 early 110Ls (.243 & .30-06) and they are both very accurate and reliable guns.

Very inexpensive too...

The Sportsman's Warehouse in Lexington, KY keeps several LH Tikkas in stock and they are priced around $650. There might be one near where the OP lives.

Keep in mind the Tikka includes integral mount scope rings like the Ruger does.

I have left handed rifles made by: Savage, Remington, Mauser (post war), Weatherby. The most accurate is the Mauser 3000L they are a few around on gunbroker. The best value and close in accuracy is the Savage.

If a single shot suits, don't forget the falling block and rolling block actions. As I understand it, ejection direction can be changed relatively easily on those that eject rather than merely extract.

Then, of course, there are the doubles by Baikal, Sabatti, and others.

Add one for the Tikka. I'm going to sound like a broken record, but I've owned just about every type of bolt gun that us "commoners" can afford, and the only one that I still own is my LH T3 in 30-06.

Looks are not the T3's forte, and as always, YMMV, but if you can get your hands on one and shoot it, you'll know if it's for you right away.
