I've had a CCW and have been carrying most of my adult life. One question I have (and received different answers so far) is am I required to notify the LEO if I am stopped in Pa while legally carrying. This did happen once to me and the LEO saw my NRA sticker and asked if I had any firearms in the car. Answer was yes and he asked me what and were they were and then proceded to chat with me about guns...never ticketed me for driving at 82 MPH on the Pa Turnpike. He was an NRA member also and hellva nice guy.

No duty to notify in PA.

Some look at it as a courtesy on your part, others tend to freak out.

My experiences reflect those of the OP. In the very few times I have been pulled over in the last ten years, I have shown my permit, and it turned into a conversation about guns. (It is no longer required to notify in Utah.) I THINK, when you are pulled over, it is almost always a pretext for LEOs to have a chance to pick you up for something more serious than speeding. When they see the permit, they know that you aren't a felon and you live your life responsibly enough to keep the permit, so there will not likely be any pot in your car. Just sayin'.

In WA there is no requirement to inform, When the LEO runs your drivers license (at least here, you CPL is tied to your DL) he will see that you have a CPL

I have never volunteered, and have never been asked. If asked, I would respond, but really see no need for it.
