I'm looking for another gun right now and .....
Question for anyone with experience with both the LesBaer and Wilson - The Wilson CQB fits my hand beautifully particularly under the trigger guard where its cut up high. Can anyone tell me if the LesBaer Premier II or the Concept III is cut the same way. For some reason a high cut under the trigger makes a big difference to me in how the gun feels in my hand.

The Wilson fits well but the LesBaer is just so beautiful and I only hear good things about them - its tough when you can't actually hold the gun and no around here seems to have one in their shop right now (Baer that is).

I own Baer TRS, but only have shot friend's Wilson CQB. I think Baer is better deal for bucks, in my opinion. Baers are much tighter fitted than wilson, but wilson had better trigger. I much prefer beautiful blueing of Baer TRS over ugly and over hyped Wilson armour tuff finish. I have small hands and Baer TRS comes with special slim grip with beautiful TR logo, which fits my hand wonderfully.

I have a Les Baer Premier II and like it a lot.

Wilsons are nice, but if I compare a Premier II ($1428) to a CQB ($1895) I really don't see why the latter is so much more expensive. And as for Wilson's "Tactical Elite" at nearly $3000 . . . no way.

The Wilson guns I've looked at seem to have a lot of sharp edges - not so you'd notice if you fire a couple of mags through, but I've seen more than one Wilson shooter in a class with tape all over his right hand by the second day of a shooting class.

Did you happen to notice when you shot both if the Baer was cut up as high under the trigger guard as the Wilson?

I'm leaning toward the Baer because it seems like a good value (they recommended the Premier II for me - but waiting for catalog now) and it's so beautiful - but pretty is as pretty does so I'm concerned about fit.

I have a Concept III. It isn't very relieved under the trigger guard. By comparison, more so than my factory Kimber or Springfield, but less so than my Enhanced Colt.

Tamara - - Do you know how the Les Baer compares in any way to the Wilson?

And, getting off the thread a bit - Likes and dislikes (if there are any) on the Les Baer? I originally talked to them about a Concept III but they said the Premier II would probably suit me better for an 'all around gun'. Don't really know why so waiting for catalog now. DO like the Concept III's look though. Big decision for me since I haven't held one in my hand.

If you want a HUGE amount of info on these guns, you can go to www.1911forum.com. There are people there that own many examples of each.

I only own Wilson, so can't help you much -- just to say that the one I have (CQB compact) has been 100% reliable, accurate, and makes a great carry piece. The armor tuff finish is not particularly pretty, and it does tend to scratch up some after carrying for a couple of years, but I NEVER have to worry about corrosion, even in the Texas heat and humidity.

In other words, for a rock-solid defensive piece, the Wilson is great. For looks, and other uses, Baer and Brown are great. (Not that they wouldn't work for CCW too, but I might not have the heart to bang up one of those perfect finishes!)

It would be hard to go wrong with any of these makers products.

Don't really know why so waiting for catalog now.

Well, I know that the Concept III has a honkin' huge "gas pedal" thumb safety, plus the same big adjustable sights that the Premier II has, which make it a little unsuited for totin'. That, and it's $100 more than the Premier II...

I've put TONS of rounds through various Wilsons over the years but no Baers, and have become a huge Wilson Combat fan. I don't know about Baer's customer sevice but by experience (mine and friends) NOBODY can touch the Customer Service you get when you buy a Wilson.
