Less then a buck recoil pad.

I put the gun together I just need to take some pictures, I really messed up my nee yesterday and can't hardly walk right now. It looks good tho, think manners or McMillan had a stock back in the day like this.
Im gimping around right now too, knee injuries suck! Hopefully your gets better quickly

Made a 1" pad buy laminating 2 together using the clear gorilla glue, you see a bit of a line but the flip flop will tare before the glue let's go. Not the best fit job it's a bit of a pain without a belt sander and the new scouring pads I picked up don't sand down as good as the others I had. Did another coat of matte clear on the stock to.

Ya I'm liking the camo pattern may do that marlin 25 I have but not sure how that stone texture paint will come off or just leave it and camo over top. Think I'd like the green a little darker, it looked very dark when wet but got lighter dried. Guess the nice thing with the sponge paint job you can mix some custom colors pretty easily. I must have 6-7 coats of clear on the stock, it seems so thick when wet hut thin when dry must have used 1/2 the can lol.

Id probably just paint over it if its sticking good, it will provide some texture and shoulnt cause any issues.

Citrus strip....or whatever it's called.... Will take it right off if you want to though.
