Cant afford it, im buying a motorcycle monday.
Man, are your priorities screwed up. lol

I've bought a few already this year, currently trying to buy another from the trading post here. I don't know why, but my offers of asking price seem to always go ignored.....

Well, you twisted my arm. Yesterday, in the Big White Truck (FedEx) was delivered my 1955 M1 Garand. I do it for me, my dad, my father in law, (Who all 3 of us served in the military); as well as to honor all vets; to celebrate our constitution; and just to piss off the far left anti-gun crowd.

Here's my Porn.

tigeroldlone,

Go with the Tromix internals and triggerguard, you can't go wrong. I suggest a Tapco piston and gas "bit". :)

Leadcounsel, you need to retire from falling out of the sky!! I just bought a 625-7 4 inch barrel. I am working still at Camp Liberty, the Rakkasan building at Camp Striker is empty and awaiting your return!!
Damn shame Ted is Dead, maybe Mary Jo is kicking his butt now for leaving her behind in that car in 1969!

Not really in a position to do so this weekend, but I am determined to on September 11.

edited to add: Is buying a firearm an appropriate way to commemorate that day? Anyone with me if so?

I've already bought FOUR this year. I MIGHT be looking for either a yugo SKS or a mossberg 12 guage. Or maybe a CZ 52 or 82?

As soon as I close this computer down I am going to the big city of Bangor and my fav pawnbroker to look at a couple of 45-70 carbines he called me about. :D Probably will not be able to try them out today as the rain is as bad as a monsoon about now.:cuss: However I can take apart and clean for a day before trying out what I most likely will purchase.:banghead: A good firearm is like a good dog, always there when you need them and a dependable proven performer as well.:D

Well after putting my son through law school, he graduated in '03, I am still trying to recover financially. That's not to say I have not been buying and shooting more guns, I have.

My latest is a 6.5 Grendel upper for one of my Colt sporters, along with new tactical Leupold scope, brass ( $.85/case) bullets, dies, other accessories that $1200 upper is running closer to 3000, but it's fun. A couple of months ago a nice Husqvarna mod 100 sxs 16, a sidelock hammergun showed up.

I am now thinking about a M-4 carbine type, I would like something shorter, lighter and handier than my other AR-15 types which are long and heavy, the H bar sporter & competition models, plus a heavy 24" varmit upper in .223. The grendel with a 24" barrel and compensator is probably 45" total length( I have a 1 1/2" buttstock extender mounted because of my long arms and neck.
They are great to shoot but hell to carry. My current problem is that there are so many makers out there now, it's hard to choose from, I am considering a Daniel Defense carbine or getting a Sun Devil upper and lower and assembling my own. It probably will not happen this year, but maybe early next year.

Much of this conversation is anything but High Road, folks. That's a damn shame.

Actually; I consider much of this conversation to be high road. Why should gun owners and those who believe in the constitution and the 2nd amendment, and the declaration of independence; be forced to bow our heads and be "considerate" of the anti-gun crowd, without the same respect and consideration? I don't believe in "Political Correctness". I believe PC has done more to harm our country than any good. For years, we've had to stand by and be "Considerate". If a pro-gun or pro-2A comments on an issue, we're told that it's just our opinion or our interpretation. But if an anti-gun or anti-2a (Yes, there are many who boldly say the 2A is antiquated and should be amended or totally removed from the constitution); but their comments are viewed as political debate and they have every right to speak as they do.

I think this conversation is very High Road. To take the High Road doesn't mean that we just sit back and keep our thoughts and opinions to ourselves. The high road simply means that we debate, argue, etc... with the same level of respect for the other person that we expect them to give us.

So, while my heart goes out to Ted Kennedy's family and friends for their lost, I won't miss the "man". While I'm glad that he is no longer suffering with cancer; I'm glad that our country no longer has to suffer his political influence. I'm simply tired of being told that what the pro-gun/pro-2a side says is simply "opinion" and that we need to respect the "Other side". Especially when the other side simply considers us a bunch killers, red necks, hicks, losers, and trash; who is somehow responsible for the majority of crime and death in our country. Yes, we can take the "High Road". But all that means is that I don't have to get personal with the individual that I disagree with. A good example is: While Ted Kennedy was a good father and a great uncle/surrogate father for Bobby and John's kids; he was a crappy public servant. He was only in office because of the name/legacy of his brothers. And the people of Mass wanted this to hold on to. But for the rest of the country, he was terrible. He was a very irresponsible person. And his negative opinions of guns and his euphoric opinion of society and crime (Which is really easy to have when you're an elite family member like a Kennedy who doesn't live in the "REAL" world); has contributed to our poverty and crime rate being where it is today.

So by all means attack the anti-gun / anti-2A crowd. It can be done totally High Road. Just attack their ideas and not them as a person. Unless of course you're discussing some hypocrisy or an attribute that makes the person incapable of understanding the reality of it. But this can be done High Road. We shouldn't have to just sit here and be sheep while the other side spits on us. If they want our respect for differing opinions, then they must also respect our differing views and opinions. In principle, it may seem "High Road" to not confront or debate the "Other- Side"; but by doing so, our rights and beliefs in the 2A and our guns in general WILL be taken away from us.

Ah'm sittin' here tryin' to figger out just WHAT isn't High Road about this....this IS a gun board, we ARE folks that enjoy owning/shooting guns - what in the WORLD is wrong with showin' 'em?!??

IF Searcher is usin' that as a basis for his complaint, then frankly I find it rather offensive in and of itself.

Actually, JFK and Bobby weren't lost to gun nuts. They were killed by people that for whatever reason wanted them dead. The gun was just a tool. By repeating your propoganda you are continuing to arm the antigun crowd. Language usage is very important. I'm often called a 'gun nut' and it is offensive.

Peyton: I've moved on from the Rakkasans. It was great that we could get together at Striker back in '08. Anyway, I am with a new unit and went over again in '09 for a short mission. I was in northern Iraq, but had a chance to stop at Striker for a couple hours. I was curious about the fate of my old office and HQ and saw they were empty (actually my old office strip mall was vacant, and only a Battalion was in our HQ). It was strange to be back and see the changes.

Anyway, great looking wheel guns! Congrats!

I had to go back and read some of the comments. I was confused as to why people were talking about Kennedy so much. I see that in the original post, there was a quick reference to Kennedy, but come on! The original post asked for some gun porn. This thread does not have to be about Kennedy. I love threads like this because I get to skim through and look at the pics. Pics here are not quite the same as seeing random pics on the Internet. Here, the owner is associated with the pic. It's more intriguing.

Let's see some more pics!

I already have alot of guns. But I did buy primers, and alot of ammo in 4 different calibers this morning in Hooksett, NH. NH people know where I am talking about.
