Alright so super bored at work and just thought this up:

Directions:
1. Name one gun you own and tell us why it is better than the gun of the poster above you.
2. and in THR style add in a "but i like ______ about your gun."

Example:

1st Poster: "I have a Sig p220"

Next poster: "I have a Sig p229 and its better than your p220 because it's double stacked, but i do like the fact that yours is chambered in .45acp."

Remember to keep it clean and not get into the obscurities of the facts and start debating. Everything is a matter of opinion.

This might be kinda lame, but I've never seen a thread like this on THR.

Alright, My first entry is: Model A Uzi Fullsize Carbine.

I see your Uzi and raise you a Taurus PT 145.

Mine's better because it's .45 vs 9mm and I can carry mine with summer clothes...plus it's considerably lighter.

Course...you carry 20rds instead of 10.

Nice Taurus.

I hold that my Ithaca side by side is better, as it is chambered in a still more powerful cartridge, can hit birds, and makes a better club.

Side by Side Ithaca...LOL

How about a Merkel 140 chambered in a .470 Nitro. Gives you two quick shots to kill anything in the world. Handles quicker than a shotgun with more knockdown power. 500 Grain Bullet at 2200 feet per second. Works to take out the Charging Elephant or a car engine block.

I win.

What's the gauge on yer Ithaca?

First gun I ever shot was an Ithaca side by side 20ga. I was 8...it beat me like a rented mule.

Sierra, Nice nitro:

But my ar-15 in a2 config could fend off a giant hoard of the worst zombies for a good while, while your rifle wouldn't be able to fend off multiple attackers.

What i do like about your rifle is, if one needed to escape very fast, they could fire off a round and have the recoil blow them backwards a few hundred yards.

Edit: You really have a $11,000 rifle?

My Smith & Wesson Model 59 is better than your Merkel 140... Because I can actually fire the thing with some accuracy, it fits into my car much easier, and cause we have a shortage of elephants here in Michigan... and because 9mm parabellum will kill naughty men just as dead as 470 Nitro.

Your boomstick does have a truly impressive Boom!, and what's not to like about that?

My early model Wingmaster is better than your Mod 59 because it was owned my my gramps, who has killed more godless communists than food shortages.

My pre war Winchester double barrel 12 Gauge will do it all, two shots at a time. :D

With all due respect to your Gramps Wingmaster.

My early model Wingmaster is better than your Mod 59 because it was owned my my gramps, who has killed more godless communists than food shortages.

My Glock 26 is better than your Wingmaster because it is lighter and conceals easier. But I like that your Wingmaster packs the power of a shotgun.

"I like your glock 26 because of its technology but my Ruger P97 (in 45 ACP) costs less and will last longer."
My Bersa Thunder 9 is better than your Ruger because it is lighter, cost less, has a better trigger and holds 17+1 of Extreme Shock 9mm.
What I like about your P97 is that it is made in the USA.

i see the ruger (decent price .45, whats not to like)
raise you the springfeild armory 1911A1. dude, its a classic, and it will last just as long, if not longer.

I'll see your P97 and raise you a Winchester Model 94 in .30-30 (pre-angle eject and crossbolt safety, thank you very much) The Model 94 has arguably put more venison in the freezer than any other single model of firearm. And, the .30-30 cartridge when reloaded lends itself to everything from light plinkers to sabot varmit rounds., possibly one of the most versatile cartridges ever developed.
Oh, and at least your Ruger is chambered in a "manly" caliber.:)

Too slow - same comment on the Springfield...

My 22 single shot is better n all them guns cause my Daddy gave it to me when I was 11 in 1960. Wouldn't trade any of ya. na na nana na

My 105mm L60 Cannon (well - its not mine anymore - the Army took it back) would eat your puny gun, you, your family and all your family's guns and their home all in one BITE! So there. :p :neener: :p

Still I suppose 22 is a nice number if you're talking ice cream cones or something.

I admire your 105MM, now that is a gun.

But my Ruger SP101 is better because I can easily conceal it and it shoots two different rounds, .357mag and .38 special

My M1 Garand is better than your 105 becwuse I can pick off your entire crew from 500yds. And be too close for you to respond!

I appreciate that your M1 has a lot of firepower and history, but 'my' Anschutz 1907 w/ heavy prone stock modded for adjustable height cheekpiece is about as accurate a gun as you can make under 100 yards :p

My M1A Loaded is better than your Anschutz 1907 It can reach out and touch some one at 1,000 yards has national match components, glass bedded barrel, synthetic stock that won't warp, harris bipod, 6-24x40 bushnell 4200 scope.

But...I like your Anschutz 1907 for historical purposes.

My Sp 101 is better than yours cause mine shoot 5 rounds not just two.

I like your M1A, a decendant of both the M14 and M1 Garand, due to the history in the design and well... it is a darned nice rifle (I want one eventually for myself). However, since I don't get to the rifle range much (but love rifles) my Winchester 94 beats your M1A because it is chambered in .45LC letting me shoot it at indoor rifle ranges, and because nothing beats a lever rifle.

Edit:

Darn, someone was just a tad quicker-
My S&W 65LS beats your SP101 because it is a 6 shooter revolver, not 5. It is a 3" K-frame and thus one of the best handling handguns ever made. Yet, it is still a revolver (class, history, tradition).

I like your SP101, and may eventually add one, because they are probably the only J-frame sized revolver in which you can (relatively) comfortably shoot .357mag.
