So i got a better paying job. In keeping with that, id like to blow some money.

Before now i had just been saving up for guns. I have been skimping out on accessories and even have not bought much ammo for the guns, on the basis that; with that money i could save up for another gun.

Now so far some notable guns are:

20" AR-15
Fullsize Uzi
Sig p220
Mac-11
Rossi snub
Winchester 1200 defender.

Now my question: What accesory/gun related item that you have bought has drastically affected your guns and you?

Maybe some kind of holster,sling,laser,light,barrel,etc?

I think i should get some slings for both the uzi and ar-15 at least. what else do you suggest i buy?

Training.
Mindset.
Mindset Training.
Training.
Ammo.

I'm not trying to be an ass-hat (ok, yes I am), but I can't tell you how many "neeeeeeeet-OH" accessories I threw away after I got a little training.

Get your head right FIRST. Then decide what you need to attach to your weapons.

Buy

Ammo.Lots of ammo.
Magazines.Lots of magazines.
Holsters for handguns.Usual recommendation is 1 conceal 1 open carry.
Safe.
Good flashlight.2 good flashlights.
Range time.
Training.
Did I say ammo & magazines?

I'll play along.

It really depends on what you what these firearms to do.

That said, AMMO and Magazines are VERY nice accessories to have.

But for your list:

20" AR-15
Fullsize Uzi
Sig p220
Mac-11
Rossi snub
Winchester 1200 defender.

20" AR-15: Maybe some optics depending on desired use. Magazines. Perhaps a sling.

Fullsize Uzi: Magazines. Perhaps a sling.

Sig p220: Magazines. Night sights. Open carry holster and concealed carry holster.

Mac-11: A deep river to throw it into.

Rossi snub: Concealed Holster.

Winchester 1200 defender: Maybe extended magazine tube. Perhaps decent sights. Sling.

My 2 cents. :)

I promise i have been looking for a river. but honestly my dad passed it on to me so its going to stay.

hehe... fair enough. In that case, magazines. And a better bolt handle upper. I think I've seen those before in Shotgun News. I used to have one and I HATED how thin the bolt handle was.

For the handguns, especially if you plan on carry, nightsights are a MUST. I can't even begin to express how pissed I get when I see a gun with the suffix "compact" or "carry" or some such and the damn thing doesn't come with night sights.

really? I think its a joke when someone spends $150 on "night sights"

that money can be much better spent elsewhere.

nightsights - way overrated IMHO.

Ok I'll bite.

One of my favorites is a good red dot. Really ups the fun factor. Also a good holster helps. Maybe some better fitting grips...

One of my lusts at the moment is a supressor. Trying to justify the $600 expense really wracks my brain though. I keep visualizing a shooting range in my back yard, but is it worth the $$?:scrutiny:

One of the most important "accessories" for guns are books about shooting skills, your model of gun, etc.

After training, holsters, spare magazines, a good reserve of ammo, and if you haven't already, it's time to get a decent gun safe. Preferably with a combination lock as opposed to an electronic key pad, and bigger than you need for now for future purchases.

Gun floss\boresnake - the BEST cleaning accessory I've ever found, knocks hours off my cleanup after the range.

Magazines.

Ditto gun safe, especially if you have kids.

I had a full size Uzi and put a laser on it - that was fun as hell!

Beyond tangible accessories, a great place to blow some of your gun fun budget would be participating in shooting competition, and getting firearms instructor/range safety officer certifications so you could help convert as many non-shooters as possible into shooters.

How about memberships to GOA or NRA?

If you have a CCW and will be carrying, holster (often more than one), belt and spare ammo carrier
For autoloaders, extra magazines
Range bag
Cleaning/lubrication supplies
Secure storage, i.e., a safe, as well as at least a lockable case for carry in your vehicle
Tools (e.g., gunsmith screwdrivers)

GOOD holsters that suit you. Especially if you are considering CCW.
If it doesn't sit well on your body you aren't going to carry it and then it might as well be on the moon.

Ammunition. Guns aren't magic wands and if you don't practice/train you might as well just carry a stick.

Decent quality cleaning kit. Take care of them and they'll be with you for a lifetime (and your kids lifetime as well most likely).

I have to agree on the mindset thing as well. Know how to use a firearm when it's needed and equally as importantly know all the times when a firearm IS NOT appropriate. Understand how much worse they can make a situation if used inappropriately.
