I've eyed them up before, just never got to see one in person. I have something like this for work that has internal adjustable velcro holsters and carriers. It's just a tad bright for everything else. Its also a little slow to get at things when your zipped up.

I guess what I'm looking for is a pocket holster with a cant that sits on about a 45, instead of a vertical 90, so the grip is presented at the angle your hand is as it goes into the pocket.

Pocket Carry Pants - pocket carry trade-offs

From Cabelas, the Trail-Hiker has deep pockets, and small pocket strong side for righty without the "tactical look" of the 5.11 pants. My cell phone typically lives in the little pocket as "cover" for the pocket BUG.

I try to keep a couple pair in good shape for Business Casual wear. After that they become Weekend Casual but still do the job in the right setting.

With a Desantis Nemesis, I've carried something as large as a G-30 front pocket, although most pocket days it's a G-26 or Kahr PM9.

The key I've found to pocket carry:
- Practice, I dry fire from pocket religiously (Also have an Airsoft G26 which is handy).
- Familiarity, after a while I got used to it and the self-consciousness went away so I don't project a "I hope they don't notice the gun in my pocket" presence.
- Discipline, something as large as a G-26 can shift and an open pocket can allow for a peak from behind. I find an excuse to put hands in both pockets as if looking for change/keys to maintain appropriate orientation.
- The right gun in the right clothes for the right situation
- Understand the trade-offs...you aren't likely to be doing <1 second draws from the pocket, even if you have an advanced grip.
- Pocket carry draws require adaptation in the draw. Regardless of how much practice, I can't guarantee that there will not have been a shift, or my body angle may be awkward at time of draw, or that the angle to threat may require a disengagement movement which would make the draw imperfect. I've practiced RECOVERY and can feel if I'm up too high in the pocket or too low and can make the draw adjustments quickly.
- It's not hip carry with a holster, it's a compromise of concealment vs. availability.

Columbia Landry

A slack worth considering is the Columbia Landry. I little cargo look, but not much. Has a nice secondary pocket behind the normal front pocket which then really breaks up any carry lines. Zippered for enhanced security when and if required. Readily available for $29.






There is also a shorts version. In this pocket is a 642 in a Mika roundcut.
