This is my 12 FV in .243, great shooter in spite of the so-so stock, currently wears a Weaver Grand Slam 6.5-20. It shoots a Nosler 70 gr. handload in the .3's - .4's, and most factory loads sub-moa.
savage 110 in 30-06 , choate ultimate varmint stock with the same walmart Simmons 3x9 , but I would really like a longer barrel, dont know which hone though, and a decent scope , need info on that to that would be the only thing else I would switch on this rifle any advice Im all ears.
It's a Savage 12FV in .223. Yeah i know the "tupperware" stock isn't the top of the line, but i was shooting less than 1 in. groups with handloaded hornady match rounds.
Here's my Stevens 300. It says Savage in 3 places, and Stevens only once so I call it a Savage. I don't have a pic of it yet, so here's the stock pic, but I bought mine with iron sights only, and stuck a similar looking cheap BSA scope on it.
great color krochus, does anybody have any opinions on a super sniper scope, Im thinking 10x40 I think and a good after market barrel to put on mine , I want a little more length on my rifle, it seems kinda small like a scout setup if you will , how makes a good after market barrel. my rifle seems a little unbalanced
Old (as in pre-68, as there is no serial number ANYWHERE on the gun, and I've had it completely apart) Savage 340 in 30-30.Horrible rear sight, very much like what was on my first couple Daisy bb guns as a kid, and shoot 6" rt. at 100 yds, but groups great.Although it sure doesnt look like it, I san only suspech the fixed, thin rear sight got out of whack during years in a closet.Attempts to correct it make it obvious the sight will rip loose before being corrected. The crown looks fine also, so I cant figure out what else it could be.Someday I will likely have it drilled for a scope, as it groups great, and is a neat gun being a bolt 30-30 with 3rd removeable mag.Kinda different. It's on my list.....
And since JPWilly reminded me...my Savage Enfield No.4 MKI*
SavageMOA thats the same gun I have I shoot less than inch groups at a hundred yards with wolf .62gr hp at two hundred it about the size of a 50 cent piece.
Here's a Savage 110FP we built a couple weeks ago. Choate stock and gun were all done in a multilayer Duracoat finish to break up the appearance under any level of light.
