10/22's are legal in california, and, best of all, because they're rimfire, they aren't subject to california's assault weapon rules. put all the folding stocks, hi-cap mags, pistol grips, and flashiders you want on this thing.
Hi-cap mags are not legal in California, no matter what kind of ammo they hold. I know, it's lame, but that's just how it is.
Other than that, you're right, the AWB does not apply to rimfires.
But you are right about rimfire rifles not being considered an AW in CA
