Highlights from a letter I got today from Representative John Boozman of the Third District in Arkansas. He's a Republican.
"As you may know, there are several pieces of legislation that have been introduced in the 108th Congress to try to reauthorize the ban on assault weapons. However, I am please to gell you that this type of legislation has not made it to the floor of the House of Representatives for a vote. Today, there is plenty of evidence--both in our country and elsewhere--that simply disarming law-abiding citizens does not help reduce violent crime."
He also goes to to spell out that he supports H.R 193--the Second Amendment Rights Protection Act that prohibits federal fund from being used to enforce anti-gun laws arising from the Brady Act. He has also signed the H.R. 649, the Citizens Self-Defense Act.
He's just one Rep in a crowded house, but it is nice to hear from a politician on our side every once in a while.
