I picked up a used Leupold M8 4x pistol scope for a super good price. I was told up from there might be something wrong with it. Well I shook it and there is definitely something rattling inside the tube. The elevation knob is a target style turret and windage is a conventional friction adjustment. Both move without resistance. I did send it back to Leupold for service. I never tried it on a pistol to see if there was any movement problems. I suspect there would have been.
My question is, what could be the culprit? Would it be fixable or would they send a new scope? I would have asked Leupold, but when I called I got put in a waiting que that would have put me on hold for 20 minutes!
