BCCL, I am not aware of a lever action 22 rifle that Mossberg is currently offering. The M464 is a 30-30. Please provide a link or info on this lever action 22 rifle.

Anyone shot the lever action .22 that Mossberg has out?
The one that i looked at didn't impress me at all, it looked cheep and the action wasn't smooth at all... but i didn't shoot it, so don't know how it would have shot?

I would (and did) go with Henry ... when (if) you're outshooting the Henry or are otherwise limited by it, sell it (heck, I'll buy it) and move up to something pricier.

The 464 now also comes in .22LR item #43000.

Follow this link, then on the right where it says "More Models", click the right arrow to bring up the .22LR version.

I bought a Henry 001 youth for my son & after 2k of various brand have yet to malfunction. I would definitely would buy again. After reading so many complains about qc on the newer Marlin I decided to pass.

I looked and looked for a quality LA .22 and was unimpressed by the Marlin, Glenfield, and even the Winchester. I asked the gun shop clerk if anyone made a really premium gun, and he just smiled and got the Browning box out. I didn't even touch it before telling him to wrap it up. The quality, fit and finish so far outclassed the others that the other great features of the gun only came as a pleasant surprise. Try one out and you'll throw rocks at the others. As far as accuracy, I'll put it up against any LA.22 made. I'd likely win, too.

I have a Henry Frontier. 20 inch octagonal barrel, all blued. Less stock drop than a golden boy. Smoothest action I've ever felt on a 22 lever. Much smoother than most 39A's.

If I do my part I can shoot 5 shot groups at 25 yards with all holes touching each other (iron sights).

Despite what people may think about the zamac receiver cover, the rifle is solidly built, dead reliable and deadly accurate. You can even get brasslite receiver covers for the frontier from a 3rd party.

Also, NO ONE has better customer service than Henry.
