After reading Lights Out by Halfast (or what he's done so far), I've been inspired to wrap up a long term writing project of mine.

I'd also like to circulate this amongst the group here--its about a merc and there's more than a little gun related content.

Would it be appropriate to post those pdfs (about 130k in size)?

Interesting, although your choice of weapons is a bit unusual. And unless the vast majority of Sig .45s do not have safeties (I think the only such critter in existence is a gunsmith modified one). I'm looking forward to more.

SIGs don't have safties. At least not manual ones.

MudPuppy, you're missing the point because I screwed up and left it out. One should never post while working; one should just post and forget about work. As CleverName stated, only one Sig .45 that I am aware of has a manual safety, and it was a rather unwieldy pushbutton affair built in by a gunsmith.

I did have a question about the second batch of chapters. You have a "sheriff's heavy patrol cruiser" in it. Was that supposed to be a heavy sheriff's car, or is that sheriff a fan of nautical terms?

The story is great so far, and I'm very interested to see where you're going with it.

Sadly, I'm not as familar with the SIG series as I need to be if including it in the story--which, I'm sure, my wife will understand as a reason for purchasing one!

I've heard the term "cruiser" used in reference to hiway patrol vehicles in Texas and Oklahoma parts--especially the big crown vic and caprices, as opposed to the mustang and camaro interceptors. Any LEO's opinion on if that's incorrect usage?

That's a major reason why I'm posting here--most densely populated group of knowledgable folks I can think of, especially about the "important" stuff.

Cruiser is fine, as is patrol cruiser. But when you say "heavy" and "cruiser" in the same sentence, I instantly start thinking of a vessel capable of long range operations with an armament consisting of 8 inch guns. Either that, or the starship Enterprise (NCC-1701 no bloody A, B, C, or D).

As for justifying the purchase, it's good to see your skills at rationalization are as good as you're writing skills.

Yup, yup--gotcha. The "heavy" in conjuction with "cruiser" does conjure a certain naval image.
