Does anyone have a Limbsaver slip-on recoil pad on their Mosin Nagant? Did you use small, medium or large? Medium is my guess but would like to hear from someone who has one.

Thanks.

Thanks, Grimjaw, just what I needed to know. IIRC, you posted on another thread that you were pleased with the limbsaver on your MN. That right?

Bill-

Look here: http://www.limbsaver.com/limbsaver/technical/rptemplates.aspx

You can print out templates for each Limbsaver they make and just lay the stock on them.

The Mosin has a curved butt, so you'll have to sand it flat (unless you're going with an aftermarket stock from ATI, Boyd's, or whoever else might make one).

I found a "grind-to-fit" Limbsaver that is within 1/16" of perfect for my trap gun; I didn't bother grinding it, since the little extra plastic protects the wood anyway.

Limbsavers are wonderful! I can shoot a 12 Gauge so it bounces off my clavicle, as many times as I want, in a thin t-shirt without any sort of pain.

Yes I'm pleased with it. If I'm trying to sight a Mosin in from the bench, it makes it easier on my shoulder through extended sessions. I don't use it if I'm just throwing lead for the heck of it.

I use The Shooters Friend recoil pad from Cabelas. I can use it on my Mosins, Enfields (not really needed) and Mauser. It fits all just fine and allows me to comfortably shoot 100+ rounds a session. It doesn't slip off, even though it looks like it might. Holds on to the stock very well. Also a lil cheaper then the Limb Saver.

I would save the cost of each limbsaver and just get one of the pads that you wear on your shoulder. I have one, can't remember the name, but it works great for all of my guns with...ah...recoil issues :D

Glad to see I am not the only one who loves this thing.

The cool part it can be removed and reinstalled on any of my rifles and shotguns in about 3 seconds. It suppliments the existing recoil pad nicely on hard kicking rifles and shotguns.
