Why? Looking for more Obama votes?:barf: Oops that's Benton Co. Linn co. here. Family has been in Linn Co off and on since about 1844. More on than off.

I'm in Union, currently. Got a lot of family living in Yamhill and I believe my sister is in Polk (West Salem). There's a fairly good chance I have family in Linn as well, though. My extended family is spread out all over that area.

I haven't lived in Linn even three years but it feels like home. I'm searching for a good site to do some shooting now. I got a BLM map and starting marking out some potentials. I'm thinking the Alsea falls area might be good. Anyone have ideas?

Sweet Home here

Really?
Know any good places to shoot near town? The quarry I've gone to the last three years was bought by Cascade Timber Consulting, and they've posted it no shooting. Just found out this week. It was up at the end of Mark's Ridge.

I'm in Sweet Home, too, in case you hadn't guessed. You lived here long?

Go to the nearest BLM office and get one of their maps of the area. On mine, it looks like there is some BLM land south of town near Calapooia. If you take Willey Creek Rd north of town, you will hit some Willamette National Forest that should also yield some spots.

Spent a good chunk of my childhood in Linn County. Went to grade school in Tangent, and high school at West Albany. Been a few years... think of it every year around the fourth remembering the timber carnival. Beautiful country, and a big howdy from Texas.

Interesting. I graduated High school in '88. Would I know you? I lived in Scio from the age of 4 til 18.

I might know your parents, if they're from there. LOL.

Gawd, I'm gettin' old.

You would know Gary Temple then. I was there when he started. Boy we used to mess with him a lot. He was green back then...

OSU Graduate. Born in Stayton, just into Marion County. Now I'm over in Deschutes. Easier to find shooting areas, and I don't have to have stainless guns...

Want to shoot, join the Albany Rifle and Pistol Club. Best in the valley.

They have every game you could want to shoot and it's a safe and friendly place.

Born in Emanual Hospital (Portland) Dec 1942. Grew up in Tigard and Coos Bay. Left Oregon in 1964 for 22 years in the Navy. Ended up in Missouri...Miss Oregon, but I probably would end the life of one of the liberals (or two) if I moved back. My brother left Coos bay 2 years ago for Texas. Same reason...

I'd love to, but I simply wouldn't make it out there often enough to justify the expense. My schedule is jam packed. That's why i liked shooting on Mark's Ridge. I could drive out on my lunch break and do a hundred rounds or so, then head back to work. It'a an hour or so just getting to the club, and an hour back. So I'd be looking at a minimum three hour trip, more if I ran through anything other than plinking.
Gas is too expensive at this point, also.
