I had plans for my cash gift i get from my parents each your to help pay for my "Christmas" gun. I had already placed a $100 deposit one month earlier as the gun i wanted (Kahr MK9) can be hard to find and has to be ordered usually.
Three weeks before Christmas i stopped back into the shop just so i could browse the inventory and see if they was even able to score my MK9.
Sure enough they pulled it out and had it on the counter before i could even say Hi.
I knew right then i wasn't walking out the door without that gun, And luckily i brought an XD SC .40 in my trunk as i knew id like to find something to trade it in on.
So after emptying my bank account and trading in the XD i became the owner of my Christmas gun 3 weeks early.
This did pose a problem, As now when i did get my holiday cash gift id have no gun to buy. Im rather picky and wont buy just any gun and i must have a need and be able to rationalize why i need that gun.
As it stood i couldn't.
So i ended up buy accessories and ammo and payed for a few indoor range trips with my Christmas cash.
Things i bought with the money:
Im now waiting on my wood grips for my MK9.
Hand made pewter inserts for my 1911 grips.
Polymer base pad for my MK9 6 round mag.
Narrow Fushion grip screws for my 1911 along with a hand made set of grips i stole on ebay for $15 shipped.
And as a true holiday miracle i had my 1911 i fully rebuilt with high end parts all hand fit by me and i done a bevel/melt job on and it had been at the refinishers for 7 weeks and it came by Fedex on Christmas Eve.
Over all it was a good gun Christmas
