I have an airweight Bodyguard (the old humpback model). I bought it used 20 some years ago, and I've never done more to it than remove the grips.

I'd like to pull the crane and clean the nooks and crannies (the cylinder isn't turning freely any more), but the screw is giving me trouble. It wont come out. It'll raise a bit with a few turns, and then will spin freely, but won't come out any farther, and it isn't raised enough for me to get a grip on it with tweezers. I can tighten it back down just fine.

Help! :(

Try a small strong magnet with it upside down. Rotate it counterclockwise and tap it at the same time.

Or try a tiny bit of quick-dry JB weld on the end of a chopstick.

Well, I went and got a magnet (good idea), loosened the screw, and of course it came right out, this time  Being held in by ancient schmutz, I suppose.

Thanks for the reply, though.
