Well I watched the new Lone Ranger movie and I like it except for the name change, and as for the buscadero rig it was good enough for Clayton Moore. The show reminds me of alot of the old western's and I know alot of them were not corect in the cloth's,holsters, gun's or plot but hey thay were still good, ahh well not all but most and has any one notice that there was the friend of Tonto in this new movie that look's alot like and sound's like Jay Silverheel's

I too watched it and I'm afraid that I'll have to disagree, two thumbs down. "The Lone Ranger" as done by the WB has got to be the most idiotic, dumbed down version of a western I believe I've ever seen. Their liberal use of modern street slang in a period portrayel was nauseating as was the abhorrently inept acting and "flying kung-fu" type of combat. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon could pull it off, not "The Lone Ranger".

Just my .02...:D

OK, so it was "modernized." It was still entertaining and after all, wasn't that what it was supposed to be? I liked it.:)

My Dad died 2 years ago and I now have about 40 or so of his Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers and Hopalong Cassidy VHS tapes. They are great to watch with my 5 yr old. Simple story lines, lots of action, good guy wins, and over in 30 minutes. Perfect for the attention span of a 5 yr old. :D At least that is the excuse I give for watching them with him. I mean I don't enjoy them that much ... it's for the children you see ... :D :D

The Lone Ranger

My kids will tell you that it has been my firm belief for 20 years that the decline of Western Civlization began with the cancellation of the Lone Ranger.

No doubt about it, the world started, to go to hell in a handbasket the day Clayton Moore took offf the mask.

Think about it. Men treated old folks, women and children with respect. The good guys all had guns to keep the bad guys in line. An Indian and a white man got along like brothers. Bad guys that acted up got a good thrashing and wound up in jail with out Johnnie Cochran to get them out on a technicality.

A whole generation was raised on those values, along with Hoppy, Roy and Gene.

Now we have Ludacris, Eminem, Michael Jackson, and the like as role models. And the general theme of liberals is that there are no bad guys or good guys, just fellow human beings with a different set of values that you can't criticize. (Iraq as the latest example)

Bring back the Lone Ranger, Tonto and save our society!

LONE GUN CONTROL: It was more than a little difficult for Chad Michael
Murray to learn to handle a gun for his title role in tonight's (2/26)
"The Lone Ranger" movie on the WB.

He was trained in gun safety, as well as target shooting for the project,
but says, "I never really got used to handling a gun. I don't like them. I
think we should ban all guns."

He notes, "I checked my gun three or four times before we shot a scene
that required gunplay. A blank might not be a real bullet, but it's still
very dangerous. I kept thinking about what happened to Brandon Lee when he
was making 'The Crow.'"

Lee was killed in 1993, when he was hit by a blank bullet while filming
the action flick "The Crow."

it was preempted in our area by some over paid ball bounceing non sportmen, so we haven't seen it, but based on this, the Actor is a hypocrit and doesn't understand the character, so how can he play The Lone Ranger?

but then again, I expect nothing less from The Teen Angst Network

Actually Don, society took a down turn when they stopped building front porches on homes and regulated people to the back yard.

I watched most of it and it sucked bigtime!!! Talk about hokey tripe!!!!!

I mean, I'm all for "modernizing" the story to interest the younger crowd, but changing it almost completely from the original tale is simply inexcusable. Now it's supposed to be a secret identity like superman?:fire:

To hear that this guy is so moronically anti-gun only solidifies my position. I'll not watch it again. At least Enterprise is on in a competing slot.

Cheers, DonP.
New version sucked.
Maybe entertaining (to some), but it weren't "The Lone Ranger". Any questions? (Smiley baring fangs)
