Look what the Canadians can buy

Those chinese M14 knockoffs might be kind of neat, but look what else they are allowed to buy:

And it won't cost $7000 like it does here in the states.

They also have to put up with handgun registration.

I don't know if they can buy machine guns or not, and I very much doubt they can carry concealed, or open.

You're probably better off here.

> The ingenious recoil absorption system causes the whole action to move rearward each time the rifle is fired, opening the breech and ejecting the spent 14.5mm casing in the process.

Wow, now that's an innovation.

All those americans moving to Canada to express their disdain of the current administration would be apalled.

Vancouver here I come.

At least Canada has a legitimate government and hasn't invaded any other nations lately.

Care to point to an illegitimate government, or are you refering to the US?

I also would like to take this opportunity to thank the Canadian Armed Forces for their continued support in Afghanistan. :neener:

Stop typing, start packing. We aren't getting any more legitimate, and you never know when we might knock off another despot. Of course, if we were to look at it strictly from an oil supply point of view, we get 4 times as much of our imported oil from Canada as we do from Iraq....

I dunno. Heard it from a comedian that Canada is just lying low for a while, until the can invade Turkey and rename it Chicken :neener:

But thanks to Canada for their support. Actually, IIRC, a Canadian sniper holds the record for longest confirmed kill, shot in Afghanistan at an insane distance of 2500 or 2700 metres.

Sheila: Times have changed
Our kids are getting worse
They won't obey their parents
They just want to fart and curse!
Sharon: Should we blame the government?
Liane: Or blame society?
Dads: Or should we blame the images on TV?
Sheila: No, blame Canada
Everyone: Blame Canada

They also have to put up with handgun registration.

So does PA, which is widely known for having very few gun control laws.

The Pennsylvania State Police also runs a handgun registraton scheme. It is illegal under our state Constitution, and the courts have ruled that handgun registration is illegal in PA.

But the courts also ruled that the PSP are not running a handgun registry, they're running a handgun SALES registry. Completely different things.

:banghead:

Yes, we can buy SOME interesting things (the 550s, PTRSs, Lahti 20mms, all sorts of Norincos, including their 14" 870 knock-offs, etc., etc.), but it doesn't make up for the rest of the crap that we have to suffer under; registration, mag limits (5 for centrefire semi rifles, 10 for semi handguns), various other inane regulations (handguns in .25 or .32 calibres, and those with a barrel shorter than 4 1/4" are prohibited), and a political system that is a close to a dictatorship as anything you'll see in North Korea. As for "illegitimate governments", the LIEberals up here now have suspended Opposition days (when the opposing parties are allowed to put forward issues for a vote), simply because they realize they'll be subject to a vote of non-confidence. The Gomery inquiry up here is now digging into the fact that the LIEberals have been running a sweet little kick-back scheme for the last 12 years, whereby they pay OUR money to friends of theirs that run various advertising firms, then those friends turn around and funnel a portion of their inflated fees straight back into the LIEberal party. A revolution is long overdue up here. :barf:

Did I read something incorrectly? Bolt Action / Auto Eject?

How can a "bolt action" rifle, single-shot execute and "auto ejection", thus readying it self-for reloading? Go to the business' web site regarding the rifle listed in the first post in this thread. Read the description. Did I read something incorrectly?

Wow, now that's an innovation.

Well, yeah, it's not ingenious, but it IS an innovation of sorts if they managed to take the time and effort to design a gun that ejects the spent casing, but doesn't pick up a fresh round from a magazine on the way forward, thus combining the firepower of a single shot with the complexity of a semi-auto.

So I guess californians can buy 14.5mm JDJs? They're not ".50 caliber rifles", are they?
