Looking at a Patterson Replica

I am looking at buying a Patterson clone from an estate but have no idea what it would be worth. This is how it is described in the list:

MFG: UNKNOWN-REPLICA
MODEL: Replica 1836 Colt Paterson revolver
SERIAL No: Not visible. Inside frame.
CALIBER: .36
REMARKS: Barrel marked “TEXAS PATERSON .36 CAL” Antique finish. Includes original custom holster marked “D. KUYKENDALL-MAKER ROUND ROCK TEXAS”
Colt literature indicates serial number is inside frame on Paterson’s.
CONDITION: 75%

So, with her infinite wisdom, what doth The High Road say I should pay?

I recently sold a reproduction Paterson on Gunbroker.
It was an older, well used Texas model in good working condition along with a holster.
It had some patina and holster wear.
It was marked with serial number 1262 and did not have any visible proof marks or maker's marks.
The only other visible marking on it was on the top barrel flat where in stylized letters was printed: "~~Texas Paterson Cal. 36~~".
The no reserve auction with free shipping started at $299 and it ended up selling for $438.13.
The value of a gun really depends on how much someone wants it and is willing to pay for it.

Thanks, I was hoping for $120 because you don't know anything about it. This guy is selling all of his father in laws guns for "market value" or "what people are paying on auction." I think I will have to pass on it.

This particular Paterson only had two bidders overall but quite a few people had put it on their watch list. The 1st bidder kept trying to win it but the 2nd bidder simply used autobid to stay ahead.
Otherwise it could have sold for as low as the minimum price.
The Paterson's do seem to generate a lot of interest even among folks who don't really want to bid.

Take a look at the Paterson Dixie Gun Works is offering. Compare that to the one you are thinking about buying. At least that would give you some more information to consider.

A photo would be nice if you could get it.

I have to admit, there is something about those Patersons.

If the Texas Paterson barrel markings are on the top of the barrel it is more than likely a Pietta which would be like the one on Dixie. A picture would be very nice and if you are going to pass on it I would be interested if it is something I don't have.
