Looking for a load for 45acp 230gr XTP. Have these powders.

Looking for a SD load for 45acp 230gr XTP. My neighbor has my Hornady book. Been digging but nothing has caught my eye. Shooting a full size Springfield Loaded 1911 or a S&W E Series. Thanks folks.

CFE Pistol all day long. From Hodgdon website. I’d measure, I think XTP is 0.451” and use that data below.

Those are unsuitable, and 800X is far less than ideal. Think 700X or CFE pistol.

Given the above I would say CFE-P,
but since you have them you might try the Longshot or 800X Hodgdon shows decent vels

My first inclination was cfe. If you like to tinker the longshot might be fun to play with.

So it looks like 800X might be faster than CFE-P, never used it so I can't say if that is really the case or not.
I know Longshot is slower than CFE-P at least in what I have tested.
