I've been hearing far to many differing views on the difference between the Ruger Mini-30 and Saiga 7.62x39 to come to a conclusion which is superior.

So, I'm looking for ANYONE in the Kansas City, Missouri area who has a Mini-30 and some free-time in the next two or three weeks. All I want to do is compare the two rifles accuracy, weight, "feel" (which one suites your American Riflemen better), which one is better scoped and not scoped, and any other observations. I'll pay for the ammo, we'll meet at a Range of your preference. I won't pay for gas, its as low as a dollar and fifty cents in most places.

Note: I will not buy more than 100 rounds a gun, with Christmas coming up and everything, but I will be happy to purchase any brand(s) of ammo you like (so long as its from Cabelas, Bass Pro, or any other local shop).

If you know anyone in the Kansas City Area with a Ruger Mini-30, but are not in the area yourself, post or send a PM. I'll give you contact information.

you probably know the Mini30 was designed as a quick handling medium range deer rifle. good 10 rd magazines are available and some 20's. ProMag says they are coming out soon with steel-body 20's that will be good. so far no 30's have proved 100% AFAIK.
I have the 189 series M30 and like it. and AK it ain't though, but AK's won't shoot MOA with the little tweaking I have done (other also).
the 'PerfectUnion' site has a Mini page with lots of good info.

I've heard all that and more. Believe me, I did some research. Unfortunately it always ended in a stand-off between Mini-30 and Saiga owners. Both sides would stare each other down like Cold-War rivals.

So, seeing as I've got the saiga, I want to see what a Mini-30 would do right beside it. And record the results. Settles the matter completely.

You'd get meaningful responses in the proper forum. Try the "Trading Post" with a "want to buy" or Rifles for questions.
