http://cba.unl.edu/grad/mbajd.html The University of Nebraska - Lincoln currently offers a joint MBA/JD. I am enrolled in the Distance MBA program there and have enjoyed it quite a bit so far. Surprisingly, the administration at UNL has been very good and helpful. Lincoln is Nebraska's second largest city with a population of about 250,000. The UNL campus is fairly urban (think Rutgers in New Brunswick, NJ or NYU in the Village, NYC, NY) with a variety of restaurants, bars, and cultural venues. Most spots downtown look like a city, but most of the city is fairly suburban. There are also several bedroom communities (such as Waverly, NE) that surround it, if you prefer that small town feel. The cost of living is pretty low across the entire state but you'll have to drive an hour to Omaha for certain things (such as a somewhat large airport.)

The state is enjoying legal CCW (since Jan 1st of this year) and has a huge hunting culture. Plenty of gun shows and gun shops. Keep out of Omaha, as they require registration of firearms.

There will be a new Caballeas going into Lacy .
Just off I5 at exit 111.

I heard about this before there was a Sportsmans Warehouse put up in that new shopping center. Now we have a BestBuy there, along with a whole bunch of other crap. I heard from the same source though that we weren't getting a Cabelas now that we had the Sportsmans Warehouse. Personally, I wish we had both to choose from, because some of the people who work at SW don't know anything about guns. Luckily, they're not morons, and when they don't know something about a particular gun (which is VERY often) they say it. They sometimes offer their opinion, like which gun they think is the most purdy. :)

I think there will be a Cabelas there this year.
I read a press release from them and it said it is a done deal.
Hope they were right.

My vote is Fort Worth, Texas. I have a friend who is about to graduate from Texas Wesleyan Law School. They have great ambience in different areas of the city, and you can find a great deal to do in the area.

Typically, where you go to grad school (law-school in particular) is where you end up living/working.

Whether you are stuck working near your law school really depends on whether you attend a national or a regional school. Attend a national school (look at the top 10 or 20 in the US News & World Report rankings) and you can go anywhere.

I am looking for a nice city, that has some charm and has some of the feel of Boston, Chicago, NYC, etc..... has a good grad school there, and also is gun-friendly.

Your best bet is to see where your LSAT score will get you into, and then cross off schools you would not consider attending. For example, I never applied to Columbia or NYU because I would never live in NYC.

With that in mind, you might consider some schools in Virginia. Virginia is shall issue, allows open carry, and has very few gun restrictions. If you are set on the big city feel, you could attend Georgetown, which is in DC, and live in Northern Virginia. Of course, it will be hard to find a place in Virginia that has the feel of Boston or NYC. I'll put a plug in for University of Virginia. It is a great law school, ranked in the top 10, and the business school is great as well (ranked in the top 15). Charlottesville is a nice city to live in, but may be a little small for you.
