So I've decided to keep the A2 front sight post on my new AR. I have a BUIS for the rear on it and have mounted an Aimpoint ML2 onto the rifle as well. Problem though is that the front post is taking up 3/4ths of the viewing space through the Aimpoint. So I'm on the hunt for a lower 1/3rd co-witness mount for the Aimpoint. There are a lot of them. They are:

Larue LT150 - Straight up high mount
Larue LT129 - Cantilever high mount
American Defense AD-68-H - Straight up high mount
American Defense AD-68-C - Cantilever high mount

There are also offerings from Daniel's Defense, Bobro and ARMs as well. Any recommendations on a decent mount at a good price? I know Larue is considered top to most, but at $180 for the Cantilever mount it's a bit steep. Though I am thinking Cantilever in case I ever want to use a magnifier with the Aimpoint.

Thoughts?

I've got a couple of the Larue LT129s.

Zero issues after running them through some classes and general use. They're expensive, but they work.

I have a set of large fixed sights waiting to go on the short house rifle. Price was not terrible, and they seem very nice.

AD makes great stuff as well. I have used a few of their QD mounts on precision rifles and they work very well as advertised!

For what its worth i prefer the mounting system of the AD stuff. I have no torture testing or scientific testing, other than the fact I have used both on precision rifles and used them harder than most. Both performed well and I would use either one without hesitation.

Thanks guys. I'm starting to dig around to find who is selling these at a lower price point. So far they are all in the same ballpark, but we'll see. I think Cantilever is going to be the way to go, so that helps narrow my choices down some.

Rockriver,

You might check out gandrtactical.com

I know they carry both adm and larue. Good folks to deal with also.
