Well the dies are sold , I made him an offer on them and he accepted it because I bought so much other stuff from him and they were the only thing that I haggled him on .

Question for you . I started with wet tumbling . How much of the brass polish do you add to the tumbler and do you add it ever time and how long do you usually run it before your cases are clean ?

With new media, I add about an ounce. Then I run the tumbler without brass for 20~30 minutes, and break up any remaining clumps. Add brass and run for about an hour.

If it takes more than two hours to clean my brass, I change my media. I add more polish (in my case liquid auto wax) about every 4th or 5th time tumbling, maybe longer between adding polish. You can kind of feel the slickness on the brass, and when it's not feeling so slick add some polish. I usually add about a half ounce when refreshing my media, and do about an ounce again when changing it. Don't forget to run your tumbler for a bit without brass after adding polish of any type.

Don't forget to add a used dryer sheet to catch the dust. Cut it into quarters and throw it in when tumbling your brass. Change the dryer sheets each time you tumble.

Some people add mineral spirits to help control dust. I tried it a few times, as well as isopropyl alcohol and never liked the smell.

I saw him selling his Challenger press for $35 dollars so I bought that also and picked it up today . He is one heck of a nice person , former Marine . When I meet him today he brought along some other stuff and gave it to me . A box of factory reloaded .357 ammunition , 400 cases of clean .45acp brass , 340 cases of 9mm brass , Lyman case pre hand tools , 4 breech lock bushing , targets and a Lee safety scale that I will never use . Not bad for $35 dollars I would say . That was like getting the press free with all that stuff he gave me . IMG_2401.jpeg IMG_2402.jpeg

I just added up how much I spent with him , $795 dollars . I added up how much free stuff that he gave me at todays prices , $281 dollars. I also added up what you might pay for everything that I bought at todays prices and it came to $1439 dollars . The only thing that I got from him that I will probably never use is the Lee Safety Scale and he gave me that . I got 5400 primers for $270 dollars , 3 1/2 pounds of Bullseye for $50 dollars and I saved over $176 dollars on the 2451 bullets that I bought . I spent $300 dollars on some reloading equipment that I didn’t really need , but I couldn’t pass up on the prices that he was selling it at .

That's amazing! The stuff you don't need you can pass on to someone who needs it or sell it cheap to help someone get started. He'd probably want you to just pass it on, like he did for you.
