I recieved my M&P 45 Compact last week and ran 200 rounds thru it.

I have to say I very much like this pistol, and will make it my EDC

Anyone that wants to get a 45 compact for IWB CCW, should put this on their list to consider

To me, it recoils very close to a 9mm in feel

Excellent Firepower
Excellent Size for CCW
Excellent Reliability
Made in the USA

I must add that I bought an M&P .40c (compact) a couple weeks ago and really like it. It has been flawless through the first couple hundred rounds so far so good. I believe this may be my new CCW as I'm looking at getting a holster like the one posted above. LM

Nice pistol!!! I also have one and love to carry it. It is an excellent choice for an EDC. It has very little felt recoil for its weight and caliber. And it conceals VERY well IMO. I hope you enjoy shooting and carrying it my friend(I know you will!), and safe shooting.

Nice choice, I have the FS and love it. I chose it over the .45 Glocks. They just fit my hands so much better and seem to recoil lighter.

I also like the M&P compacts. Mine (M&P40c) has been completely reliable, the ergonomics really work for me and mine has a perfectly acceptable trigger.

I don't know if I have high-tolerance/low standards for trigger quality or if some people are simply spoiled by 1911s (I have two, btw), but the trigger on mine allows me to shoot my M&P40c quite well. Maybe I just got lucky.

The M&P trigger isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Just because its not the same as a Glock's or 1911's doesn't mean it's awful. They do have some grit when you first get it, they are a little heavy IMO, and have a little over travel. The grit goes away after about 500 rounds, or you can just polish the trigger bar wear it touches the striker block. The trigger weight can be dealt with by just training with the thing to get good with it, and the more you pull the trigger on it the lighter the trigger pull gets. The over travel also seems to decrease a bit with usage.

If all those things still bother you the M&P trigger system is very easy to work on.

The trigger out of the box I would rate as average

Not great, not horrible

It does smooth a bit..... but I did do a little bit of work on it to get it where I wanted it.

Im not a big plastic gun guy (firm believer in the S&W 3rd gen guns), but the M&P is the bees knees! Dandy little guns, the Apex kit isn't a must, but it really helps.
