For those with both a G26 and an M&P9C...

I've recently narrowed my "pocket" pistol search to either a G26 or M&P9C. I was looking for a comparison photo of the two, and all of the ones I see compare them slide-to-slide. I was wondering if anyone had a comparison of the two grip-to-grip (or butt-to-butt, however you want to word it).

Or of course any other comparison photos you'd like to share.

How big are your pockets? I'm not one to criticize it if a pistol of that size class works for you but those are both a bit large for pocket carry.
Have you actually seen both of those pistols, or handled them?
Sorry I don't have pics to help you out. I had an M&Pc that I STUPIDLY sold. It was a fantastic belt gun. I wouldn't dream of trying to pocket it though.

Actually pretty big. My XDM 3.8 Compact barely fits in them, something a tad smaller would work.

I guess I should say "double-stack 9mm that will fit in my oversized pockets."

Here is a pic I took about three years ago showing my G26 and M&P40c back-to-back. I'm assuming you will be pocket carry one of them with flush floor plates, so from the pic, you can visualize the G26 would be the shortest (not by much) in the grip length.

I'm really leaning towards the M&P. Now that I've picked one, all I got to do is get the funds...so it may be a while.

I have owned both, but not at the same time, and now have neither, hence no pictures.

I can tell you the M&P is slightly larger in all dimensions - including slide thickness - than the mini-Glock. In fact, the slide thickness makes it closer to the G30. I tried pocket carrying the Glock, and even in a large cargo pant pocket with a holster to break up the outline, it looked like a thick paperback book, with obvious "printing" and, worse, little room to get my fingers around the grip. The M&P, of course, was even worse. Now, if you're wanting the gun for belt carry and just want to stick it in your pocket for short times and distances, it would be fine for that. IMO you should think of the M&P as a really swell belt gun. :D

From my hands on, the other day.. difference was between 1 finger dangling (SW) vs. 2 fingers dangling (Glock).

The G26 is just a tad shorter in the grip.

For a pocket gun I think you would be better served with a Kahr PM9 or CM9 or a Diamondback DB9.

Both the G26 and M&P9C are great for IWB, not so much for pocket. They're just too big and heavy. Yes, I do own both.

I have an LCP. I'm looking for something that is 9mm, 10+ rounds, and double the weight of the LCP.

Neather one is thin or light enough to be a pocket pistol. 20oz does make clothing around a pocket sag. Think 15oz max. Tianiumor airweight j frame works better than either. Or KT, kahr, diamondback ruger, sig and several others make a same thinner and light choice to pick from.

hickok 45 has a really good youtube video comparing these guns, gets his calipers out and all.

Not to contradict what someone said, but IIRC, the M&P slide is a tad slimmer, but the over width was a tad wider just due to the take down lever. But I could recall incorrectly.

I couldn't imagine pocket carrying either one. Even without a holster (which I couldn't imagine pocket carrying a pistol without a holster). I pocket carry a LCP, no way would I want to pocket carry my LC9, I just don't have that kind of baggy pants.

I remember that video. He only measured the slide (not frame with take down lever) and the M&P was a bit wider.
