Magazine Disconnect Safety... Need one!

I know a lot of you are probably against them, but I'd like to give one to my daughter... that is, a 9mm auto with a manual safety and a magazine disconnect.

I know about S&W autos.
I know about the Browning Hi-Power.
I know about my Ruger P345 (obviously not a 9mm, but you get the point.)

What else you got? What examples am I missing?

I think you've probably named them all. Older S&Ws had them, and they are an option on the M&P, but then you don't have the manual safety.

On second though, Bersa puts them in some of their guns.

The new Ruger Mk.III has a mag disconnect and manual safety, though that's a rimfire, and it seems you want a centerfire for your daughter.

I know it's not 9mm, but if she doesn't like it then you could always keep it! The FN 5.7 has a mag safety disconnect. Less recoil also...did I mention you could keep it if she didn't like it?!?

Beyond S&W's metal frame autos which have mag disconnects, it's optional on the M&Ps whereas it was never available on the Sigmas. I believe, but am not certain, that the optional manual thumb safety seen on the M&P 45 can now be ordered from the factory or retro fitted on all other M&P autos - worth looking into.

I have a Star BKM that I inherited from my father. It has a magazine disconnect.

Include the Browning BDA .380 in those with the magazine disconnect.

I'm kinda curious why a magazine disconnect is a selling point for you. The only thing they're good for is making lousy triggers. My opinion, anyway.

So does the BG according to Mas Ayoob..He has written extensively about LEO's having a small edge in dire straits when a weapon could change hands. On the other hand, IIRC, I've seen him take the other side of the issue. I don't call this flip-flopping; just going throughly over the debate...

I like my p345,I can see where the mag disconnect would come in handy in a scuffle for a gun

How about something like the Kimber CDP or Ultra 9mm? It's a Series 80 AFAIK, and a 1911 style to boot!

Edited immediately to add: I'm an idiot and for some reason was thinking of the firing pin safety instead of the mag disconnect.

OTOH, I understand that the new S&W M&P .45 is available with a manual safety and magazine disconnect.

There are some police contract Beretta 92 and 92-Compact pistols with the magazine disconnect. They'll be pretty tough to find, but you could check at the Beretta Forum and post a wanted ad.
