I am looking for a better way to carry a spare mag. I either put it in my weak hand pocket, or use my leather man tool pouch. I practice using either method, but I am interested in a more dedicated iwb option if anyone has any good experience.

I carry a glock 23 or a 27, usually my spare mag is a glock 23 mag.

Any recommendations or product reviews are appreciated. The leatherman pouch works well, I'm just a little paranoid that someone will want to use the multitool when I'd rather not disclose I am carrying.

How about a generic knife pouch?

Are you carrying legally? I only ask because you seem to be overly concerned with 'completely invisible concealed' vs regular concealed carry. Why do you care if someone were to discover you have a pistol magazine on you?

I have had good experiences with crossbreed iwb mags. But I mainly use owb mag carry, mernickle owb double mag pouch, simply rugged owb mag pouch, blackhawk double mag pouch, galco leather.

Thanks for the responses. I am legally carrying. I want to conceal because I notice how uncomfortable people become at in public when someone open carries, so I keep mine hidden so as not to disrupt everyone else

I have used a Shrade folding knife owb case to carry double stack 17 shot 9mm mags for years. Works great, and if anyone sees it, all they see is a Shrade folding knife case - not a mag pouch. (I always carry beneath a baggy shirt, sweat shirt, sweater, or jacket.)

As for the issue of concealability, I share the OP's concerns. If one walks in on a robbery in progress, or if an armed badguy busts into a store when I'm there, any visible sign of a gun could get me shot. That includes a mag pouch that looks like a mag pouch. Coming from an LE background, I will move mountains to keep my friends from incorporating any item of obvious police gear into their dress - like a basketweave black belt for instance - for the same reason. IMHO.

Mag holders....

My 1st suggestion is the rig from www.StickyHolsters.com .
You can use it in the belt or a deep concealed pocket.
They are USA made & offer a discount to active US armed forces/sworn LE. :D

Other high quality brands include; Blackhawk, Galco, Blade-tech, Safariland, Bianchi-intl, Don Hume, Mitch Rosen, Milt Sparks, Kramer, 5.11 Tactical, High Noon Holsters, Kirkpatrick Leather, Wright Leather Works.

Some states, such as Texas ironically, have very strict brandishing and printing laws for concealed carry. That could be a concern of the OP.

On topic, I carry my spare magazine one of two ways. The newest way I carry the spare magazine is in a Desantis pocket pouch in my weak side front pocket. The Desantis pouch does a pretty good job breaking up the outline of most of my spare magazines, except the 17 round magazine to my Ruger. The spare Ruger magazine I carry has a grip extender so it tends to print in my pocket. I carry my phone in the same pocket so that helps.

The other way I carry a spare magazine is using an IWB pouch made by the same company who makes my firearm holster, White Hat. I carry this way less often since it requires the pants to be a bit looser around the waist to accommodate the firearm and magazine IWB. However it is more comfortable and balanced than carrying a spare magazine in the pocket.

For the record, Texas has no law concerning "brandishing". That word is no where in the code. And Texas has no penalty for "printing", either.

I use this horizontal mag holder for concealed carry.
