Mags, mags, mags...how many do you have? Are they enough?

I have a couple per gun that use detachable mags. Not planning on being in a fire fight and I don't shoot competitively. I have a couple that I only have one mag for. Looking for at least one more, but have not spent the money yet. I can get by with that at the range and plinking.

Never counted...

and do not intend to start. Magazines are one of those things that to me, you cannot have enough of. I buy them as I see them and can afford to do so. Same with ammo. "Too many magazines/rounds" or "Enough magazines/rounds" are all meaningless phrases in my world.

Anywhere from 1 to 25. I think have I for my Ruger Mk II. I believe I have around 25 for my S&W 4006. Buds Gun Shop was selling them for $7 per magazine not long ago.

I have 4 or 5 per hand gun (except my 22-45 just 2, and my p3at which I have 3 mags all loaded with corbon, federal and fmj. 1 extra mag on me and another extra in the car) I always have 2 loaded with defensive ammo close to the guns and the others are usualy range mags so I dont have to unload my hornady double taps in my .45 guns and federal in the .40. A quickloader for my revolver, but I think I am going to get some flat loaders that are easier to conceal. I have almost 10 (mostly 30 but some 20rnders) per ak and ar. I have a few 10rnder ar mags with Hornady 60rn tap For 2 legged critters. My bolt guns that take clips are well stocked. I still want more for everything pending funds.

Heck I've got 20 AK mags and I don't even have an AK!

I also have 12 mags for my AR, everything else I have like 3-5 mags for.

I have 30 mags for my AR in 5.56,
I have 5 mags for my AR in 22LR
I have 20 mags for my M1A.
I have about 10 mags for a 1911, and I'd like a lot more, cuz that's what I mostly shoot.

I kinda figure that I've got enough mags for my lifetime, (im 34) but if I want my kids to be able to use them when im gone, I should get more.

the comment on 'time that i paid for' was probably directed at hourly ranges. There are a few in WNY. You pay by the hour, so down time with magazine reloading does hurt- especially when hourly rates can be upwards of 20$!

My magazine count depends on use. Frequently shot guns have more magazines. For ARs I have 10 or so 30s and about the same number in 20s. For my 1911 I have about 15. For my g17- about 10, and decreasing down from there. for guns that aren't shot often, 2 or 3.

Wow that sucks. The rifle range I go to currently is $60 a year (NRA membership mandatory), and let's you bring guests free of charge. They're also not one of those PC ranges that has rules against shooting at silhouettes.

On average 3

Safety slugs for home

Hollow points for the streets

Range for the range

This way I can swap out the mag and the +1 as needed.
