Mak or CZ 82??

Ive never owned a CZ but I had a Bulgarian Mak 9mm about3 years ago. I had it for about 2 years before I got rid of it. So its been a while since Ive had mine. I can tell you this. I wish every day I had never got rid of it. I did so to acquire a bigger 45 acp. I hate that decision to this day and no longer even have that particular 45. The facts: The Mak did have very small sights, but they were accurate! Very accurate!!! I would shoot that Mak everywhere i went and people would literally stop and stare and ask about it. I would jump pop cans every shot out to 30 35 yards with that Mak. Many people seeing that tried to get it from me but I would not part. I do regret it and the Mak is a very durable, reliable, dependable handgun. I would jump on another if I could find one. At the time, I paid 199.00 for the Bulgarian one I had. In the past year I have looked high and low around where I live(Beckley, WV) and have to come across another one of any make. I made it to the last gun show in December in my area and looked the whole place over for one and found NONE! Get the Mak and you won't be sorry.

I have both pistols as well. An East German Makarov and a surplus CZ-82 in excellent condition. AIM is now selling CZ-82s to 03 FFL holders for $199.95 so I'm probably going to be getting another one of those! They are in my opinion both great guns. If you will be carrying this gun a lot I'd probably go for the Makarov as they are a bit thinner, smaller, and lighter. If you will be shooting more than carrying I'd go for the CZ-82 as they feel so very nice in the hand and shoot wonderfully well. If I had to choose one to have with me in a tight spot I'd choose the CZ-82 without hesitation. The significant magazine capacity increase and my ability to shoot this pistol better make that decision a no-brainer.

CZ 82 is a much better, more refined gun. Mine has and excellent trigger and shoots extremely well! Plus, you have more rounds in the mag.

The Maks are good guns, but the CZ's beat them.

I hope the CZ-82 is all that's been advertised. I ordered 2 from AIM this AM and I'm planning to make it my carry weapon. I'm taking the CCW class next month.

NC-Mike,

You won't be disappointed. Pound for pound and round for round, I think the CZ-82 is THE best value on the surplus market. This is a surplus pistol that can actually be carried and used on a daily basis for personal protection unlike the wierd CZ-52, Nagant, or PA 63s. The trigger is SMOOTH and with 12 rounds, you have a respectable supply of ammo.
You will enjoy it, and AIM Surplus has the best deal going on the CZ-82.

I guess you can see where my opinion falls.....

That's a nice pistol you have there. Love the sights and grips, nice touch.
