Which grips are you talking about? Karl carries quite a variety. I ordered some of the wood grips and had them crack. Contacted Karl and he said no problem send them back. I have had good luck with the Pearce rubber grips.

The Pearce grips are comfy but chunky. I prefer the EG plastic grips. They're slim and comfortable.

No these arent Pearce grips they're something new from makarov.com. IMHO I really dont like 'em.

denfoote,

Stock grips? Comrade, you must also like your vodka chilled and straight.:D

If it weren't for the lanyard ring on the stock grips I wouldn't mind them so much.

I have just about every grip they offer, except the wood ones.

I prefer the the brown plastic ones. But also the black EG grip.

The "makawrap" is a bit funky, I actually haven't shot the fun with that grip on there.

Keep in mind that you may need to get the narrow grip screww if you change your grips.

I originally had the Bulgie thumbrest grip, then the EG, both of which take the wide screw. When I ordered the others, they required the narrow screw, its only 1.50 IIRC its worth it.

I use the wrap from Makarov.com and I enjoy it. I have a large hand and it feels good in them. The reason I went with the wrap was at the time the Mak was going to be my primary carry and I wanted something that wouldn't slip if my hand was sweaty.

I've got a Pearce on mine and while its more comfortable to shoot then the stock red star grip, I still don't like it (especially if I wanted to carry it).

Over on the makarov forum there was a guy who experimented with "Dip Grip" (that stuff you dip hand tools in and it gives it a rubberized coating). He thinned it down a bit so he could pour it over the stock red star grip (instead of dunking it) and it seemed to work quite well.

I keep meaning to pick some up and try it with mine (after grinding down the lanyard hoop) and see how it works.
