I'm not up on NFA metaphysics, but presumably the mfr would argue, "it's not a 'weapon made from a rifle' with a 3" barrel (which would be an SBR) -- rather, it's two weapons -- a non-NFA pistol and a non-NFA rifle -- that just happen to be connected." They might add, "so you're saying that if I duct tape a pistol to a rifle, then I've just engaged in an illegal 'making' under the NFA? That'd be stupid."

Not that stupid has always stopped the BATFE.

I thought that was the point of rails? To attach multi-railed accessory rails, to which you attach multi-railed accessory rails, and so one, growing them exponentially - the man with the most rails wins.

As for the original question:
(a) this thing is old news,
(b) It's silly for "mere citizens" because why would you use a pistol when you have a rifle? But the theory is suppressed subsonic 9mm pistol....just taking out a sentry? Use the pistol and stay quiet...but if the S hits the F, then you have your carbine to do real fighting.
(c) As for the other product, obviously in the USA, you'd better not buy and put it on your pistol that without some papers from the gummint - that's SBR.
(d) As for whether the first thingy is an SBR - hmm, good question, but I seriously doubt it, because you have to have a longgun to put it on, which makes it nonconcealable, which is the point of the SBR law.

Ya i think if your out of ammo for a 30 rounder for your m4 and you need to switch to the glock mounted under your gun then your way over your head and probably should let the police deal with the problem

well a shoe string attached to a rifle is a machinegun, so ya, dont over estimate the BATFE
